All I know is I don't give a shit what some crappy journo says, especially when they're slagging off the best manager in the world because of Kalvin Phillips.
As if Pep would buy any player to stop him going anywhere else, he is just not that guy, she must be fucking thick.

As if it matters to any player what is said on a forum.
Personally, I wish the guy well, it's not his fault some mad **** at City thought he was the answer & paid multi millions for him

Yeah, imagine you rated someone so highly that you were scared of the thought of anyone else having him, only to not think he's good enough to play

I'm guessing she isn't the brightest.


Besides, he isn't a brilliant player by top level standards. He's a solid enough Premier league midfielder at best that we thought was good enough to do a good job when needed and it's become evident that the club misjudged his ability to fit in with how we play before seeing him every day in training. That's pretty much all it can be.

He's spent most of his active playing time in the championship. He had 2 years in the premier league before joining us. One pretty good season and one mediocre season with injuries and then done nothing since joining us.

So that's 1 decent premier league season (four seasons ago) after seasons in the championship and he's not far of 30. Some would argue he hasn't even shown that much to consider him a good premier league player and you couldn't really argue back with much to back up your case when you look at the reality. I mean even Patrick Bamford had a very good premier league season too but I don't think many people think he's a quality premier league level striker.
 
What I don't understand is why we don't force Phillips out when a legend like Joe Hart was forced to leave when Pep came because he doesn't play the way Pep wants? We could've got Rice if Phillips agreed to go to west ham but he thinks they're below him. Txiki should tell him that he has to go or we'll put him with the u23s. Not only has he been completely useless for us but poor Rodri is suffering as a result from being overplayed!

I don't remember us 'forcing' Joe to leave.
Like Kalvin, he was benched
Unlike Kalvin, he chose to leave
I suspect Kalvin will make a similar decision soon

Player doesn’t reach standard expected by manager.
Player trains hard to reach standard.
Manager doesn’t believe player can reach required standard.
Player is allowed to leave on loan/potential transfer.
This isn’t unique to City. It’s every football club, at every level across the world.
Let the lad move on. Not his fault. Not Pep’s fault. These things happen.
Wish the lad luck and move on.

Hart was told he could stay but wouldn't be first choice keeper, so he decided to leave.

Good take on the situation tbh. Club got it wrong along with a few posters on here who claimed he'd turn it around.
