Yes I was shocked when he mentioned in the book how running 40 miles, as a training run for a 100 miler was idiotic and that he was averaging a mere 65 miles most weeks. Fully expected it to be a lot more time on the feet.Read that a while back its a good un,.
I think mindset plays a huge factor in these lads, I follow Damian on strava and he dosent smash in huge amounts of miles everyday, they also have a lot of technical knowledge that goes unmentioned, being able to self navigate all that way is huge
Damo going into the lead now, not sure what's happened to Kim collison, he was a couple of miles in front but has gone off course and stopped, hope he's not pulling outYes I was shocked when he mentioned in the book how running 40 miles, as a training run for a 100 miler was idiotic and that he was averaging a mere 65 miles most weeks. Yep he's out, shame as he was flying at record paceLooks like Kim has just retired.
Anyone braving a run in the snow today? I wanted to try and do a quick run today, but seems like a recipe for a broken neck!
I saw @gaz76 went for a casual half... You're a mad man!!

Yep, I make him about nine miles in front, I did see that damo has had a lot more sleep though, so that could come into play later on.Jack Scott is absolutely flying at the moment. I hope he can keep it up and see it out, as currently he looks like he will smash the course record.

They are about the same as they were last year it's just wether jack Scot can get to the wall first, think the record could go
Insane achievement, to finish is insane. But to knock over 10 hours off the record is madness, I'm sure he didn't sleep at all!!Jack Scott finished miles ahead of the previous record. Looks like he finished in 72:55.05!
View attachment 104315Jack Scott just updated his strava, 30 thousand calories burnt, over 3 times the elevation gain of climbing everest, absolutely mental performance.

Me either, I follow both jack Scott and damian hall on strava and their weekly mileage is probably less than average, John Kelly said before it that he probably trains less than a seasoned marathoner.Crazy achievement.
I genuinely don't understand how that is possible! I bet he'll sleep for a week now!
Not unless he is really from Switzerland and not stokeI bought a pair of running shoes recently called Scott. Are these anything to do with this runner or just a coincidence?
Well, that answers my question! HahaNot unless he is really from Switzerland and not stoke
