I'm not sure he is intelligent. I don't think hes stupid by any means, but don't think he's anything special intellectually.

I know he decided to read a few books for a while, but that doesn't mean he grasped what they were about.

You say he is "well academically qualified" - is he? I don't know anything about any qualifications he might have. Do you know? It'd be interesting to know.

I had a rough upbringing by many standards, you're right people may have been disadvantaged but it doesn't mean they stick cigars out in other peoples eyes.

Ten GCSEs.

As a pro footballer obviously he didn't need to go to an FE college and do A levels or a vocational course. But most people seem to move on past the "I got x GCSEs , aren't I bright like" in early adulthood.
 
Just had a Google.... Ten GCSEs, started a Philosophy degree in 2015.

It doesn't say what grade GCSEs, but he's obviously done ok there. I can't find anything about him completing his degree, maybe he didn't.

So maybe he isn't stupid, but he's still a nasty little shit. More so in some ways as he probably can't claim its down to ignorance.

Turns out Jess Glynne and Alex Scott are in a relationship which may explain his anger.
Sad fact is he can't grasp even if they were straight neither of them would shag him anyway.
