PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Could the likely change in UK government have an influence on our case?

There have been suspicions from the UK media that the UAE may be trying to putting political pressure on the UK government regarding foreign investment?

The likely incoming UK government at the time of the PL decision will be Keir Starmer's Labour government.

According to the Labour Parties blurb: "Keir was obsessed with football and still plays every Sunday with friends... A lifelong Arsenal fan, he has a season ticket at the Emirates, where he attends with his children." Starmer also "believes football itself could become a manifesto issue for the next election, where his party would push for a “fairer” game."

The UK media portray City as unfairly sportswashing oil revenue. City have dominated the PL recently. Starmer might regard it as a popular domestic move for a significant downfall of our status to occur with his government in power?
He likes a good jolly does Mr Starmer.

He's also registered "donations" for 3 full hospitality packages this season for Arsenal away games at Palace, Chelsea and Newcastle, approx £7k's worth.

A die-hard Gooner? Or just another politician with his nose firmly in the trough?

The latter! They can’t help themselves.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to hospitality for Liam G a couple of years ago at our stadium. No surprise to see Burnham there in the Tunnel Club!

Typical Champagne socialism mate.

A further search of Mr Starmers registered interests turned up this little beauty...

Seems he can't resist the Abu Dhabi gravy train, so no fear of him having it in for City when he strolls into No 10.

£25k on a private jet...to a climate change conference.

LOVFL.

Ha ha. Incredible isn’t it.

It's a guilty pleasure of mine to check up on the shit these public "servants" take off book. They will go to the opening of an envelope if it was paid for by someone else.

His family went to a pre-xmas Jingle Bell ball and racked up a bill of £800 which was covered by a "sponsor".

Holidays, City breaks, home improvements- all taken care of by someone else.

The likes of me and you? Go figure..

Apologies for derailing the thread, but in my defence, someone else mentioned Starmer ; )

One comment from Jordan (before I stopped listening to Talksport) about City's ownership was: "I don't like doing business with those sort of people." It is always revealing when the mask slips with people like him. His motivation is pretty clear to me.
White American and possibly Jewish owners versus Brown middle eatern Arab owners could be one of the reasons for the dislike / objections. Allegegly, Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I don't like listening to those type of people on the radio.

Wondering if the yanks will bomb us when we win case as they bomb everyone else when something happens they don't agree with

Well done @Chris in London, that’s a great post. From my point of view one aspect of this whole shit show that is often over looked is the club’s unequivocal and categorical denial of wrong doing as presented at CAS. This relates in particular to the allegations concerning sponsorship funds. The club’s defence consisted of written submissions and evidence given under oath ie CAS is a Swiss Court of Law. It seems reasonable to assume these will be necessary again for the IC process. So if the IC determine the club breached “disguised equity funding” rules they will have to state that executives of City, Etihad Airways, Etisalat lied in their submissions and provided false statements. It wIll also mean the evidence submitted to CAS was in fact criminal ie perjury. btw The same applies to the UAE Government witness who also provided evidence in defence of the club at CAS. The implications of such a scenario are mind boggling, just where would that leave the “relationship“ between City and the UAE and the PL.

Thing that's always got me is you have a fit and proper test for new owners/ potential buyers of clubs but do we have a fit and proper test for board members of association's.
The F.A , uefa , ect..

How can Gill and parry ect.. get the jobs they do when it's so clear how biased and bent they are.

What about the talksport fit & proper test……

You'd hope not with the amount of money our owners have put into football and the City of Manchester.

It's because they are biased and bent that they get the jobs they do.
OK
So if that's the case we need an independent body to regulatate.
Uefa. F.A. Premier league.

It's so obvious.

If Microsoft, amazon, ect.. get too big they get regulated and told to split up as to not be a monopoly.

How obvious is it to the world that having the ex chairmen of Liverpool and United in power of these associations and also fans of said clubs is legal.

Clear conflict of interest.
