Savio | Joins City

TBH I don’t watch La Liga to know that much, but sounds like he is highly rated and young age.

Not that much of a transfer fee €13 million but good for Troyes as doubles their investment, which is good as like seeing the CFA teams do well and according to Transfermarkt worth almost 3 * as much so could prove a bargain.

Hopefully he proves a good signing, some very exciting youth players at City which is always fun. Like seeing how Pep develops players like Alvarez (who has now won everything, you can see why they are all wanting to come).

Title race is looking close again, If we win our game you’re a point behind, always my favourite position for you.

I know nothing on the fee, but this is my WA on a group with a few Liverpool fans, not sure which part they will bite on first.

After such a good season, it was clear that we would sign him. I mean, Girona is part of the city group too, so if things don't work out, he can always return.

Love the Player. I just wonder where he fits.

We have Doku, Foden, Silva, Grealish, and Bobb all of whom can play on the wing. All of them have pretty clear positions in the squad. Doku and Foden are obviously not going anywhere.

Bernardo does have the release clause and may make the jump this summer. But he also covers a CM role as well, which I don't think Savio does.

There were some Whispers about Bobb Potentially leaving this summer, but I don't see us paying upwards of 40 Million for a guy who is on the border of the squad.

It does make me wonder a bit about Grealish.
I think Bobb is more likely to go the way of Palmer than Foden. We are in the market for a winger and already bought Doku, whilst having Foden and Grealish too. It’ll prove too tough for Bobb imo, he won’t get the chances barring injuries. It’ll pain me as I think he’s class. But for the club it’s straight profit on the P&L

Makes sense to bring him in as a city player. obviously being part of cfg means there's no financial worries for them and it doesn't really benefit troyes to be selling elsewhere and banking big money for him, as they won't be spending it because they're not at that level yet. so, it either gets banked by them and not spent losing any ffp benefits or they get what they need for now from us and we get the asset below selling value and then we either sell him ourselves and bank the profit which helps us with ffp or he becomes a player for us. Win-win all round and we will get floods of dipper tears in the process.

This is precisely what the cfg should be doing. City havent really benefitted from it so much until now, with girona suddenly reaching the level theyre at, we could be about to really see the benefits.

Wouldn't be opposed to him doing another year at Girona on loan, if they've got champions league football next year, that could be a seriously good place to allow him and potentially others to go up that next level before coming to us.

Bobb is almost certain to have a future here if Pep stays. Grealish is more likely to have an issue with game time on the wing.

Watched him around 10-15 times this season & he`s great talent but i think Bobb is a better player overall (right foot, Savio seems a lit bit faster). I previously wrote that i hope we don`t trade Savio for Bobb like we did in the past (Doku/Palmer; KP/Lavia). If you care about club identity then this is not good news. Let`s see how this plays out. Perhaps one of Bernardo/Grealish on his way out? It´s certainly the end of McAtee, Gomez.

Attackers that started on the bench today:

Grealish
Bobb
Doku
Nunes

I could see at most bringing in 1 player... but that really minimizes game time for all of these.

Its gotta be a 1 in 1 out policy at this point.

I think Savio coming means Bernie leaves at the end of the season. Everybody else is still young with KdB likely retiring here.

Wow. I missed this news. It seems odd that we see how he looks in preseason first.

Why would it be Bernardo going? He rarely ever plays on the left if at all? Surely more likely grealish?

I think it symbols more the end of Foden on the wing.

I admit it looks stacked, but KDB minutes are going to be managed…

Haaland
Alvarez
Savio
Grealish
Doku
Bernardo
Bobb
Foden
KDB

9 for 4/5 places.

Plus Nunes, Kov who could play alongside Rodri.

Dare I say it could we be shaping up for a transfer ban?

Imagine we loan him to Girona (which seems a good option).

We end up with transfer ban for 2 windows and a fine by FFP.

Then in the summer we bring back from loan Savio one of the best players in La Liga and the Argentine kid at River Plate (although imagine that is likely to be winter window).

Would boil some p nicely!!

I wonder if we are buying just to secure him now and then keep him on loan for another year at Girona?
Prob giving preseason to impress, lots of time to flip him out on loan to Girona again by sept if they think he needs it.

Yeah i think that maybe the plan mate but i wonder if maybe Bobb maybe stalling his new deal offer and may go for big money if he doesnt sign? Couto rumoured to be coming back in the summer as well.

Bobbs contract is too 2026 anyway, plenty of time on that. Savio will get a chance, just if he takes it.

We really are starting to build a team for the next 5+ years

In 5 years time, you'd imagine Gvardiol, Foden, Doku, Bobb, Alvarez, Haaland, Savio will still all be around mid to late 20s, with the likes of Rodri and Dias reaching their early 30s and still equally as good as their game isn't reliant on pace.
