Joshua Kimmich

Kimmich is too slow for RB or double pivot besides Rodri...we already have Kova who has a similar profile/age & he`s faster/quicker than him...on top he wants around £350k per week which would make him top 3 on the wage bill (transfer fee around £30-35m, no resale value)..idk how Rodri,Foden & Co. react when somebody who contributed zero to past success will earn more than them...only upside: no agent fees.....unnecessary tansfer
They seem to quite like Erling.

Same way they reacted when Haaland joined on 1m a week I reckon. They didn't give a shit and went on to win a treble.
offensive players are most of the time top earner at a club... Haaland doesn`t earn £1m a week & he has exceptional attributes to his game (Kimmich doesn`t)..i guess many players saw him as a final puzzle for the CL (by the way KDB got a pay rise)

Getting Kimmich for £25-30m ish would be amazing business though. Similar to the Kovacic deal. We’d basically be swapping Kalvin Phillips for one of the most intelligent central midfielders in world football.

Except that our media would be quick to point out what a terrible mistake it was not signing for the rags or dippers .

Joshua Kimmich has been a shadow of the player from two seasons ago. Whether this is due to his reported fallout with management or a decline in his abilities we do not know. Perhaps he needs a change and someone like Pep to revitalise him.
At the right price and wage structure it's a yes from me.

At 28, for a player who has never relied on his physicality in any way, shape, or form, I am not concerned at all. I call it a good old burnout, combined with a fallout, and it clearly calls for a change of environment. It happened to me in real life, and pretty much most people I know at some point, so I think it's completely natural and can be fixed with the right move forward (whether it's work, location, whatever). His mentor (Pep) and the best team in the world (us) is that move for him, IMO. I think he knows that too (source: Tolmie).

without buying Kova,Nunes perhaps (personally i don`t rate Kimmich) but we should buy players because we need them not because it would be "amazing" business...we already spend £80m on Kova,Nunes ...KP is still at the club & perhaps we can`t offload him...Kimmich has no resale value & would earn more than/around £350k per week which imo isn`t amazing business when you look at our midfield options besides Rodri who will be playing 90-95% of the games (Kova,Nunes,Foden,Bernardo,Alvarez,Bobb,Lewis,Perrone,Grealish,Couto,Stones,Akanji)

Kimmich is more of an 8 than a 6. He can play double pivot too. The quality of our squad would be better with him in it, so I’d be an advocate of him coming.

KP isn’t going to play for us again. Kimmich will take what we offer him. If he wants more, he’ll go elsewhere.

The Bayern game last season was 3-0, but the quality was far higher than the Madrid game and we got the decisive moments going our way. The midfield battle was epic. Kimmich and Musiala were really good that night.

There’s been a few players who have really stood out against us in the CL. I remember Gundo running the show for Dortmund against us and Bernardo tearing us a new one for Monaco.

Whilst not quite in the same bracket of performance, I think Kimmich and Neymar have also been top quality whenever we’ve played them. Proper intelligent players who just look dangerous whenever they receive the ball.

Do you not get tired of repeating the same thing. We get it.

If Pep wants him then he will get him ffs. Wages and resale value is completely irrelevant if we keep winning trophies.

i wouldn`t advocate of buying him because i`ve seen him play 20/30 times for club/national team over the last years....agree to disagree...cheers

My problem with Kimmich as a transfer is that he’s just a better version of Kovacic and Nunes…so why did we buy Nunes and Kovacic?

He won’t be able to play 6 on his own, so he doesn’t solve that problem, and I don’t see him being better than Foden, KDB or Bernardo at 8.

Plus I see Rico’s future in the middle, and McAtee, and maybe even Bobb.

So we’re just stacking the squad at 8 with 30 year olds (KDB, Kimmich, Kovacic).

FDJ could play 6 on his own in most games, probably not away at top clubs, but games like today he could actually be a more creative option than Rodri to break down defences, and with Stones or Rico next to him he’d be fine. So he makes more sense as a signing to me.

I get what you’re saying totally. He just makes our squad stronger, without transforming it, for limited money.

On the bench in their biggest game of the season…
I feel like this speaks volumes about his current situation at Bayern. There is clearly some conflict between him and the club, and this sort of thing is actually making me believe that this isn't some sort of attempt to get a better contract at Bayern.
