This is a a whole new ballgame for the red tops (and Levy) to deal with.
That isn’t a behavior that only exists in the United States. There are people in Britain that only support a team in good times as well. United’s fanbase has plenty of people that were “glory hunters” who faded away. For my part when I choose to support something it becomes a part of me and I always stick with it.The answer is obvious. Yanks like winners. When our form drops off so will most of them.
Khaldoon has completely demolished the Glazers and FSG in their own backyard. They were arrogant and complacent (and devious) and now they have been humiliated.Immense amount of piss boiling to follow on from that today. Shows you how much the tribal nature of fans stops them from seeing that of course this would be obvious. We play virtually always the most games, win the most and have a squad filled with stars for the past decade. The same decade that the US market has grown significantly.
I have bumped into US (and one Canadian) fans at many home and away games this season. They were more passionate and positive about City than some so-called legacy fans who I know. Anyone who follows City is good enough for me.Great news for the club, like every thing it takes time to grow up to where we are today, same with the media, slowly the red shirt writers will be overtaken by new journalist who be blue but it will take time.
Bluemoon won't be welcoming for our friends across the pond as they will be ridiculed for not living within a stones throw of the ground just as the red shirt's always are.
But revenue is worldwide income and without it we will just be little old city who got lucky.
These 37 million are part of the city group's plans so need to be welcomed along with the rest of the world.
Ummmm, kindly fuck off :)Our colonies marketing team of @Mad Eyed Screamer, @ChicagoBlue and @idahoblues have certainly done a good job.
Pretty impressive for a club with no fans.
Not a living one maybeUmmmm, kindly fuck off :)
Incidentally @idahoblues hasn't actually had physical contact with a human being in 14 years.

I think 2012 was when every Premier League game starting being televised on US television. As a Yank who felt quite lonely supporting City for much of the last two-plus decades, my observation is the divide between old and young here is stark.
Listening to SiriusFC on the radio, the gobshit(e)s like Tom Rennie, Eric Wynalda, et al still routinely lambast City in favo(u)r of Utd and (especially) Liverpool. I go to a bar last year for City v Arsenal and City fans are outnumbered 15 to 1. I still get questions from know-nothing parents at my kid's high school ("Now . . . you support Manchester United, right?").
But . . . ask my teenagers about THEIR friends . . . and ALL of them, whether they follow the sport closely or not, LOVE Erling Haaland. And many know Kevin DeBruyne too. My daughter says City shirts outnumber any other team displayed at her school save maybe Barcelona (and that was, of course, due to Messi).
So while winning and lots of exposure on the big stages has helped, don't underestimate the drawing power of our Nordic meat shield and our beloved ginger too. They are phenomenons. Americans love personalities as much as teams, especially younger ones.
That said . . . for lunch time my time matches when I can go to my "local" (which is a 15-minute drive from my house -- that's a "local" in California), a little group is starting to build of regulars who are there for City. So the spark has begun to spread a bit.
It's generational. The fans of the legacy clubs will age & pass on, to be replaced by a young, Internet & social media savvy set of TV presenters, pundits & football fans. They won't give a shit what ManUre or the Dippers did when the world was viewed through Black & white tellys. As a Yank who felt quite lonely supporting City for much of the last two-plus decades, my observation is the divide between old and young here is stark.
