Wait. What? Where is the proof he’s relying on “Trump getting banned from the race?” I thought everyone was saying Biden would get smoked by any other Republican.

Of course he should have announced he was a one-term President two years ago. I’ve said that several times.

How precisely should the system be changed?
Could Biden get an age limit of being President of 75 through in time to rule them both out?

I am cognizant so many are upset at the options. I am also cognizant that all of you think there are or should be options. You called Biden “the better option.” You are all wrong. There is only one option: whomever is running against Trump. Because no one who runs against him is an existential threat to democracy, and he is.

It is getting tiring repeating this. Every time you bring up Biden’s issues you bring everyone a little closer to getting Trump elected. You chip away at the argument that any alternative is better. You give milquetoasts the excuse they need to disengage when what they need is fucking intelligence and courage to just pull the lever.

Biden is what we have right now. Stop fucking moaning and support him, whatever his issues, or start preparing for a much uglier future.
It’s perfectly reasonable to bring up Biden’s “issues” whilst still vehemently hoping he wins. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Similarly, it’s reasonable to discuss Biden’s mental acuity given he might well become POTUS and all that entails.
We know there is little / no likelihood of Biden being replaced on the Democratic ticket.
That doesn’t negate the need to discuss his increasing frailty and how this could impact on his ability to govern. It’s perfectly legitimate.
I hope he wipes the floor with whoever the Republican Party put up.
But it’s also disconcerting to see this cognitive decline.,

Yep. Everyone said the same thing about Hillary’s emails. And Benghazi. "Perfectly reasonable to discuss."

It's as if 2016 never happened.

When the other side is going to take every single possible crumb of potential negativity, and turn into an orgy of fear-mongering to deflect from the shocking amorality of their guy, you do not engage if you want to win.

You go back to the fundamentals: one wants to destroy democracy existentially, the other doesn’t.

Isn’t this simple?

Apparently not.

The meme of the paradox of tolerance is so appropriate here.

Even one of THE most liberal people I know posted a "Nobody for President" button on his FB page and got likes and ha-has. Under which I wrote: "Political disengagement: the fentanyl of democracy."

How a bundle of allegedly intelligent humans in an age of social media cannot understand how cults operate, and how narratives catch instant fire and are subverted for the benefit of a fundamentally evil subset of other humans, is beyond me.

For the first time, I now see that Trump probably will win. Well done.

I give up.

If he wasn't what's the plan? And isn't that more evidence of faltering judgement and his cognitive decline....

I guess it should probably be changed so insurrectionists are barred from office and people who are told and foggy headed for almost every other profession shouldn't be able to run for office either.

I'm not sure talking about the obvious on a football forum based in the UK will have much bearing on voters in swing states.

The idea that any Republican can moan about mental decline when the last two presidents they've produced have been Donald Trump and George fucking Bush; a man who struggled to string more than five words together.

Not forgetting Reagan who went into rapid and serious cognitive decline. He once read a speech with the pages in the wrong order making no sense and was the only one present not to notice and reportedly regularly fell asleep during White House briefings. During his second term he was reportedly unaware he was even president.

Churchill was the same in his second term.

Reagan's shift towards Christian fascism was 'out there', and some of the decisions he made are still having an effect to this day.

His and Thatchers combined economic policy affects the whole world today. Many copied it and look at the shit we're in now.

He puts an awful lot of research into his output so it's hardly surprising.
I wasn’t complaining about him having the show, or how good he is at what he does, but as we get closer to the election, 20 mins of comedic pisstake on the election isn’t going to cut it.

It would be far better to have the truth bombs exploding every day, or at least MWF.

To me, it feels like the Democrats are losing the propaganda war right now, as the right fills the airwaves with crumbs, while the loaves of Republican bullshit go unaddressed!

On the PennsylVANIA thing, I'm not sure where the idea of renaming it came from (apart from a diseased Orange mind), but maybe they'll threaten to change it to TranslyVANIA in the hope that Agent Orange will explode in fake fury.

Alternatively, in honour of Agent Orange, surely CrayonsylVANIA should be the new name.

Anyway, nothing poltiically important was ever attempted on 5 November.
