Never heard of Ashworth what position does he play ?
Ashworth is highly rated and so is Berrada. Catweazle is showing signs of knowing what he is doing at the rags. We can't afford to be complacent like they were with us. The more positive news is that they are still at least ten years behind City so we have a head start.

I was shocked this week with what a former international manager said to me.

"Manchester City are the most boring English team to watch - their playing style is tedious."

What? This is the Treble winners with the most explosive striker on the planet, Erling Haaland, who was back swatting the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite away to bag his double against Everton.

They also have arguably the world’s most creative and elegant player in Kevin de Bruyne bestriding the pitch and that is before you get to Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and the rest.

The thing is, there is just the smallest seed of truth in his point, it can get a little bit ‘predictable’ with City. They control most games, averaging 75% possession of the ball in the last seven league outings.

And admittedly they do just keep passing it around ad nauseam until their opponents are sick with exhaustion chasing those sky blue shadows. Eventually an opposition defender’s concentration lapses momentarily, usually between 50 and 70 minutes, City strike and it is all over, yet again.

I understand that seeing the same old story and style recur almost continuously would elicit the odd yawn from some people which is why I loved watching Jeremy Doku changing it this week. Whereas Jack Grealish has lost some of his electrifying directness against defences and become more City style, Doku is adding that unrestrained excitement to City’s play instead.

If you find Doku’s current play boring, you are watching the wrong sport. You should also check that you still have a pulse.

So many issues I have with talkshite wish someone would ask the cockney wide boy the following:-
1. why financial irregularities result in punishment of the innocent - Manager/Players/fans and not those responsible for financial matters.
2.will EPL rules stand up in the UK court of Law (Alan Sugar rinsed the FA back in the 80's when they banned Spurs from the FA Cup/Fined them £2M and docked them 6 points for 'financial irregularities UK court through the FA out and none of the sanctions legal.)
3.As we are charged with spending money (heinous crime) Why dose he never mention the amount of money City have pumped into the game to the benefit of Everton £84M, Arsenal £68M,Liverpool £50M, Chelsea £40M,Villa £40M Spanish Clubs £300M German Clubs £300M Portuguese clubs £120M !!!
4. if we are found guilty will they be charged with receiving illegal money?

Monday it was ally (i'll laugh at toothache) McCoist starting the ball rolling with the CL is nothing now only rich clubs can win it like even without money the jocks will never win it again. Tuesday it was well city should win with all the money they spent. Every backhanded comment ends with a BUT

I have started timing from 10-00 am how long it is before the rags get a mention. Then the usual Rio Ferdinands sister in laws brothers dog has got gout nonsense

It will be a UK manager stuck in the kick and rush, good engine, row z defending, two headless chicken wingers and a stump up front mode that has won nothing since 1966

I didn't know Nevin was pally with Sam Allardyce. What a pile of bollocks. This week Tony Pulis was bemoaning "playing it out from the back and "tippy tappy" football. These sort of dinosaurs almost destroyed English football. It is amazing how their cultish views still linger on with some people.

It absolutely reeks of client journalism. I'd certainly be checking his bank accounts for 'payments in kind' or 'hospitality'.
Henry is a good journo but is a Man U supporter so no surprise there at his defence of yet another unknown - so he's a statistician,a train /plane spotter with massive success behind him then? the key is having a good manager with tactical awareness and the ability to attract players who fit the jigsaw - not sure how this guy fits into that remit if al all.

They've destroyed English management, I don't know when we will ever see a top class English manager again.

Yes I believe he did but Newcastle probably need bargains and he didn’t bring anything January
Ashworth is a transformational change person behind the scenes. His main role will be helping with United's huge re-structure. I have just heard from people who know his work and say he is a top operator. The same is true of Dave Brailsford (despite all his baggage) and Omar Berrada. United have been recruiting duds off the field for years but that seems to be changing and the last thing City should do is be complacent. They are still a shambles of course but it would be a mistake to dismiss Catweazle!

Wolves could sell Portugal winger Pedro Neto this summer to ensure they do not breach Premier League profit and sustainability rules. Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United are admirers of the 23-year-old. (Sun)

Strange. Wolves may have to sell so they don't breach FFP and/or PSR, and look at the 'admirers'
The four who were responsible for the introduction of those rules.
Talk about looking after your own interests......
But City only win because its not a level playing field, so laughable !

Both grew up in Salford Quays. It's so tremendously organic and not in the slightest bit manufactured.
