PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I'm not saying Tolmie is wrong but he's taking a risk in posting this information. A lot of people will be getting their hopes up now. This needs to be rock-solid.
Yeah, I'd advise people not to get their hopes up. If that tweet boils the piss of some dickhead opposition fans, that'll more than do for now though!

If I were the PL I'd want to manage expectations before any news of a loss for them at the independent commission becomes public in order to reduce the size of the meltdown. It's still going to be epic though if this happens. Might even phone Simon Jordan myself.
Somebody needs to put that Gobshite in his place, we need more Jay's.

The club, players and fans have been vilified by the media since the takeover. It has been relentless and has got more aggressive, spiteful and at times evil as it has gone on. From the way it looks, the club haven't lifted a finger in a concerted effort to try and stop it or at least tone it down. They have lost complete control of the narrative. As DD has stated, the normal football fan now firmly believes we are a dirty oil money-funded club, that are serial cheats and has no fans, and the fans we do have are plastics. This in my opinion is the one area where the club have seriously fucked up and it's way too late to try and change it now. United and Liverpool have numerous paid client journalists and media shills, constantly pumping out positive articles about them, literally on a daily basis, and it works. Why didn't we, or don't we do the same? We have so much going for us as a club and a team it is frightening, but hardly any of it is ever mentioned or sees the light of day. A decent, switched-on PR company could / would have a field day. But instead, all we get is radio silence and hate continues to be relentlessly pumped out and ramped up. Yes, we have won on the field, that is without a doubt. But our achievements, reputation and legacy have been shredded beyond repair, and it's criminal that the club have been totally passive for over a decade and allowed it to happen. All we have is a few hardcore fans, like Stefan, Rabin, Jay and Prestwich Blue who are prepared to put their heads above the parapet in an effort to stem the tide. Not good enough. Absolutely nowhere near good enough from the club. After the CAS victory, we should have come out all guns blazing and put a stop to it. We didn't, and history has a habit of repeating itself if allowed, and here we are again. You reap what you sow, and the prolonged media hate campaign is the harvest of our total lack of effort of doing the square root of fuck all to stop it.
It certainly feels like that, and there is a sense that the Club have decided upon an everyone will come around to admiring us and giving us credit if we stay shtum approach. Admirable, but it's a very long and uncertain game to play.

I sense the narrative has changed in the past few weeks in the media and fan driven social media with "city will get away with it"

Whether this is driven by weakness in the premier league case or red top clubs finally accepting their claims lacked any substance and hence briefing their press shills. Who knows.

Assume Berrada would have signed an NDA when he joined? I guess City don't want him running off and copying our ideas/business strategies?

He hasn't yet taken up post, so I'd be surprised if it was him. That said, who else could it be? If executives at other clubs are getting insight into our case then the commission is not as independent as we are led to believe.
If it's genuine info then it's possible that it's nothing to do with Berrada but United themselves could be the source. I know I'm joining up a few dots here but if any details are being leaked then they're more likely to be leaked to United or Liverpool than Fulham or Bournemouth. Also, isn't one of the PL head honchos a United fan? I also think it's nigh on impossible to plug all leaks. The PL will surely be getting updates from the independent panel about the investigation and how it's progressing and it only needs one person to start blabbing.

Well Sean Dyche isn't aware of anything, as he was spouting last week, and Everton are the "need to know basis" club of all time as we all know.

I wouldn't have thought that the PL would be getting any updates at all. Once it was handed to the IC, the dialogue between PL and IC should be minimal outside of normal procedural communications. It doesn't seem likely at all to me that the PL have been told by the IC that their evidence is a concern and that City's submissions cast further doubt. These are matters for the hearing in November, surely? Whilst not outright dismissing it, I'm taking Tolmie's info with a massive pinch of salt. If United are getting a running commentary from the IC then City should be sounding alarms louder than the Copenhagen fans the other night. As with CAS, we can and must not tolerate any breaches of confidentiality whatsoever.

It worries me that we don't have people doing interviews - it doesn't evn have to be club employees, in fact it probably can't be - talking about the way that other clubs have conspired against us, the fact that these rules were put in place to stop us, the fact that everyone is assuming guilt, the fact that we have been cleared once. Just an alternative narrative. Anyone high profile connected but not employed by the club could do it.

I honestly don't know why there is no Twitter Account set up by a PR company to do a similar job that that guy was doing to jounralists a few years ago. Rabin I think. Messages to counter the lies. That Liverpool fan went fucking viral; with that doctored image of the stadium at the weekend. A lie spreads around the world before the truth has its boots on. The damage is done.Everyone thinks we have a half empty stadium every week. And there is damage: kids are not suporting City because of the barrage of "EMpty Seats/Shit fans/Cheats" they get in the playground.

I've seriously thought about setting one up myself.
Just do it Dave.

Of course the PL will be getting real time feedback from their legal team about how the process is going (as we will be from our legal team). There will be many months of both parties submitting information/evidence to the panel and then the panel requesting further material from either or both parties. They will have a very good idea about how it's going as will the club.

That’s all great mate but people can’t help blabbing. They all run in the same circles and if you think the tribunal that is paid for by the premier is truly independent and has had no communication with masters then I don’t know what to tell you.

This tribunal is like work bringing in HR. They might pretend to be impartial but their main role is to protect the business from you. Same here with the tribunal.

The “no evidence of wrong doing” is what city need to rely on. Nothing else.
