Been an incredible servant. This season he’s really dropped a level and his pace is not what it was. Can’t believe we didn’t offer Gundo what he wanted but did Walker. I hope a Saudi club comes knocking because I think it’s time for him to move on. How he was made captain ill never know.

Last season he wasn’t in the team when we were really playing well and that says it all for me.
Gundo wanted out so that is irrelevant.

Walker must be replaced this summer, magnificent player for us but his time is over.

Clarkie?

Yes, he can cover ground, but legging it is not the same as defending.

Who would win a foot race, Walker or Ake?
Which one is the better defender?

He was at fault for the goal, doesn’t drive his winger down the line, and is a sucker for the knock inside.

I listen to him talk and it reflects his intelligence as a defender.
Maybe when Walker has an outstanding game , you can come on here then give the benefit of your hindsight after the event.
As for Ake he is the best defender in the Premier league at present and there is no debate.

Not sure he did. Didn’t he state in an interview that we left it late to start negotiations and he also wanted more than a year.

Why does he never close the winger done quicker? Seems to just amble over and gives the winger time to advance towards the box? Also, for the goal, why did he run towards the player with the ball when Akanji was already going to that player hence leaving the initial pass on to Sterling? Then allowing him to cut back inside on to his stronger foot is just poor

In hindsight him going to Bayern would have probably been the better move but we’d already lost alot of experience.

We should probably go back to Akanji, Stones, Dias & Ake.
Not going to happen mate . We have him in the first team for the rest of the season and maybe next season aswell . What a fuck up we have done

He's always been an utter cnut off the pitch but his performances on it glossed over it.
Great comment mate . Most on here have chosen to forget about what he did during Covid and getting his dick in public and numerous other things because he runs fast and plays well . Tbh after what he during Covid he should have been fucked off on the spot but here we are now fucked because he will play the rest of the season and it will keep costing us points .

Because he wants the challenge. He wants to give the winger room so that he can tempt them into taking him on. He's done it for years.

The difference is this season it keeps biting us on the arse and he carries on doing it.

PR , he wanted to end his career at Barca, and fair play to him, although his wife is pissed if reports are true, which I very much doubt.

Won the treble without him playing a major part then this season he’s handed an important starting role and captaincy because he threatened to leave. Not for me.

Yesterday was a catalogue of errors including 2 for the goal - legging it across the pitch to Jackson when he was never going to get there and while Akanji was already there to leave Sterling was criminal. But then to let Sterling cut back onto his right foot - which he was obviously going to do and surely after training with him everyday for 6 years he realised - was the icing on the cake. He did it against Newcastle (twice?) too for their goals away.

His defensive ego seems to have come to the fore this season too. Jogs over to wingers rather than getting right in their faces.

Squad player for me. I’d rather have Akanji at right back (Bayern at home) and Stones in CB being the extra midfielder.

And then the fun started for Inter...let's keep it real...
Let’s keep it real shall we
He is one of the best full backs in the world
We have some of the finest players in the world in every position
However we have fans that constantly slag off our stars .god knows why
The majority of these fans would go into total melt down if they had to watch the likes of Jamie Pollock in midfield on a weekly basis

He keeps on making that same mistake. Teams are targeting him on the break, knowing he will come over to the centre leaving a massive gap on the left, his right, which they are exploiting.

Personally, I don't see that, unless the bar is a low one.

In what way do you think he is?

Bahaha. I'm not meaning to rub my feathers, but I've been saying all season that he's been shite and has ZERO business starting.

If he's not locking down his side of the pitch as he has in the past, he's borderline useless, as he doesn't have an attacking bone in his body.

Force Sterling to his left would surely be the first thing on his 'scouting report'.
How he's become a first name on the team sheet guy this season is beyond comprehension especially after being rightfully phased out last term. It's well past the time to go back to the Akanji, Stones, Dias, Ake back 4.

And while we're at it get Alvarez out of the midfield ASAP or going trophyless becomes a probability instead of a possibility. We're not winning a Prem or a CL with him or Akanji in any type of midfield role, simple as...
