Ticketing Compliance Manager - Man City

He or she aren't going to rock the boat are they. They certainly won't be looking into how and why City, their employer, distribute away tickets like they do.

City doing it aside. How are City going to find out who the original seller of the ticket is to the 3rd party ticket website without buying the ticket at the price being advertised, which they won't do.

I saw a lad this season in his 20's(?), well dressed, but casual, sat in the Craft Bar in the Double Tree Hotel on London Road in the city centre, taking calls on his mobile, selling tickets for a match, with a steady stream of people buying the tickets. He had quite a few tickets, as he either held them in his hand or put them on the table waiting for the buyers to turn up. He wasn't bothered about people seeing the tickets. Looking at him you wouldn't haven't thought he was a ticket tout. It's impossible to say where he sourced that many tickets from, but it must have been from the club or from somebody connected to the club to get that amount of tickets.
On that seast plan it has the block and row, should be fairly easy to check a row and see where the ticket came from,I'd have thought.

Theres always that same bloke outside the ground openly offering tickets to people.
Anyone ever had any dealings with him?

Just another kick in the teeth to force fans to only use their ticket exchange so they can exploit the 'new fans' by giving us £30 for our bought back ticket and sell it to them for £70.

Yet they will make out we are the crooks in all this.
Selling returned tickets at less than the match day tickets would cause no end of issues with those who have already bought The money refunded to the SC holder is a pro rata rate as to offer a profit would be illegal

There are always genuine City fans looking for home and away tickets at 'face value', as well as 'ticket touts and scammers'.(cunts!)

Thankfully Ric runs a ticket face value price only policy.

I would imagine this type of thing will come under their remit and may have to stop. I presume they want tickets to be going to people who are registered with them (and of course who will pay top dollar for the tickets!)

The club are actively pricing out ordinary folk and selling what are general admission i.e. bog standard seats, as part of hospitality packages. Fancy a laugh? I am a matchday member who missed out on a derby ticket, the club won't sell any more season tickets, thus i pay over the odds for each game i attend which is most home games, such is life. However, if i am so inclined and had the money, i can this very minute purchase not one, not two, but TEN £799 hospitality packages on the official City site for the derby (The Ivy Asia Offsite). My bro is also a member so although i didnt try i assume i could buy him ten as well as i manage his account ! So if i have £16k handy i can this very minute purchase twenty derby tickets, all tickets for bog standard seats that should go to proper fans. Lovely!!!

..and the amount of 'first time attendees' will be in the thousands.

Not sure, given all the debate over tickets where this sits but it probably deserves its own thread. The club is currently recruiting for a Ticketing Compliance Manager - full details can be found here https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/3838432700

The interesting bit is this:

The successful applicant will actively investigate ticket re-sale misuse for home and away matches and fraud along with all aspects of ticket touting to ensure that the Club’s terms and conditions are adhered to and that crimes under the Serious and Organised Crime Act 2005 and the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.are minimised.

You will develop a comprehensive policy to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable model for the identification, investigation and prevention of ticket sale misuse and touting.

You'll use data analytics to identify trends and patterns of ticket purchases alongside pro-active investigation into ticket re-sale through all unauthorised channels including online, social and face to face.

If they started investigating in house that would be a good starting point!
It’s something similar to what Newcastle have implemented this season
Spot checks etc to prove the purchaser uses the ticket
Mate who is a Geordie told me the other week when I was up there as I asked his lad who usually goes home & away with him if he went to Sunderland the previous week
He didn’t go and he had spare tickets but wouldn’t risk passing em on
Apparently if your a caught passing one on it’s a warning
Second time it’s a ban from buying aways

It’s understandable in some ways
Not when you can’t go at last minute so you are stuck with it
It showed pre Covid with that ridiculous collection in destination Bollox when ticket sales dropped to much lower points

Looks like names on tickets and photo id is imminent !!!

Doesn’t affect me personally as have the points and I go;
However home games they’re a desperate to give me fuckall for my ticket so they can flog it to the highest bidding tourist who watches the game via his/her phone
That’s ticket touting

It will help my lad who relys on 18-25 plus he quals for most aways when we get 3k apart from rags and dips. So could bump him up the pecking order
Something is going on as he’s 20 and they’ve changed the lighting scheme on the turnstiles as the wrote to him last week to ensure he has ID if he’s challenged on entry

It will affect a lot
But allow others to a have a fair crack the whip further down the pecking order
Who’s gonna risk 25k points plus passing their ticket on ?

See u at Luton
