Season Tickets - 2024/25

My prediction:

Across the board increase for all SCs but proportionally more for over 65s. The club is moving towards a lower discount for this category and effectively it has all but gone for cup competitions. My SC has gone down to a 34% discount to full price this season and I expect it to continue to reduce. See the Spurs thread for comments as they are completly stopping it for new 65 year olds.

Given that I'll be 65 this year, this is inevitable.

Of course it is. It plays on the fear of missing out on an away ticket. Those platinum season ticket points could make the difference. But they aren’t making the difference anymore for a lot of City fans.
I have platinum but the benefit has reduced because of reduced ticket allocations for away matches. I go to most away games but the crucial issue for me is being eligible for all Finals and you don't need Platinum for that. I will still join all the cup schemes though.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for the club to put season ticket prices up, but they will, because they couldnt give less of a shit about us minions.

I'll call them out about it AGAIN on here and on Twitter and be told that I cant moan paying x amount to watch the standard of football im watching, I was there in Division 2 and will be there again should they fancy relegating us, going to City for me (and im presuming many like me) has fuck all to do with how good we are, obviously its nice but not a deal breaker at all

As long as you have a season ticket, and are in the cup scheme/s, as well as having a certain amount of loyalty points, you will most likely or always get a cup final ticket. As a rule a club get’s a large allocation of tickets for a cup final. Not having a platinum season ticket won’t affect your chances in that sense. Even in Istanbul there were plenty of tickets floating about at a cost. Getting an away ticket for Bournemouth, Luton, United, Liverpool, etc is a different matter altogether. Those are the away tickets that are getting harder to get. Liverpool selling out at 25,000 loyalty points, even with a reduced allocation, as an example. Even though some more tickets were made available yesterday and sold out quickly.

Income from SC is a very small part of overall income these days. Here is something radical that will garner a lot of good PR, remove the nonsensical platinum tickets and freeze SC prices. Given that the CL format is being changed offer a four match package deal for home games for all SC holders with the maximum bundle being £120.

I'm hoping that there will be a backlash against 'Spurs OAP grab' and that other club's won't dare pull the same stunt.

Fingers crossed anyway as I was kind of looking forward to getting a few bob off when the time comes.

I’m probably just too cynical but the fact arsenal and spurs have both raised season ticket prices and are removing concession tickets strikes me as too much of a coincidence.

I fully expect most clubs to copy this pricing strategy. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if there was an element of collusion across the league to implement such a change tbh

I suspect they realised a long time ago what a ‘mistake’ the platinum tax was. And that’s why it’s never gone up.

But to drop it now would probably cause them more grief off the people who’ve been paying it all these years than letting it carry on at an increasingly reduced percentage of the actual ticket each year.
