i like him but he`s way to expensive for the alternatives we already have...spending £200m for KP,Kova,Nunes,Paqueta is underwhelming....i even doubt Bernardo will leave this summer (not much money around in Europe & the french League won`t be his destination)

Nothing would have appeared to have shifted, other than suggestions from Brazil that the allegations will be proven unfounded and Tweets that our interest remains keen. The busyness of the thread probably reflects his recent return to action, nothing more nor less.

I still feel our summer signings will largely be dictated by what happens in the coming weeks. Win big trophies and we can probably afford to buy younger players. Fail to win big trophies and we may need to buy more established players.

He turned 32 a couple of weeks after his debut, and still made 300+ appearances.

I think he'd be ideal for City & would've been a better fit than Kovacic & definitely Nunes.

He's played defensive mid in a two-man pivot, left wing, at No 8 & at No 10 for WHU, so he has the versatility Pep loves.

Personally, I'd have still done the deal for him last summer, & crossed the betting allegations bridge when we came to it.

Not a signing I necessarily want, concerns over age, ability, injuries and betting

I would’ve preferred him to Nunes and a Kovacic but neither of those were the right signing either
