The ball will come into him and often it's slightly stuck under his feet and he'll take two or three passes and then lay it back to the person who passed to him.

I think he has been told to do this? His main role is to create space I thought

I'm basically asking him to be Dias, Rodri and De Bruyne all rolled into one...but why not!

If he could just be another Rodri it would be more than enough for City to go a whole season unbeaten :)

He isn't Rodri and there is no shame in it as Rodri's the best midfielder in the world.

Stones is a CB who can play in midfield, he isn't a midfielder and unfortunately he couldn't play the Rodri role if Rodri is out. As he himself says, his role is to open up spaces for the attacking players and for Rodri who is quite dangerous around the opposition's box.

But Stones is probably the only CB who can play that hybrid CB/CM role so well. He's been fantastic in that role and has helped us win the Treble.
