Was surprised he was even playing last night. He needs to Fook off England games. They are not helping him & his injuries. His body can’t take that many games.

Just focus on city stonesy

I'm not sure there's anything to criticise about him playing 30 and 60 minutes for England to ease him back to match fitness last month - IMO it's better that he blew the dust off with England rather than during his first two games back with City.

I'd be interested to see how much more ground he's covering by playing in midfield and what impact that is having on his loading. It's worrying if this is a repeat of the exact same injury.

Wish he was made out of whatever Sterling is made out of. Injuries have stolen far too many from him. Hope he recovers quickly as he’s massively important in how we want to play.

People just like complaining about Southgate because they don't like him.

The truth is he's always been pretty good with City players. It's rare he starts anyone in both games in an international break, and if he does, they come off early.

In the past 6 years, Stones only played 90 mins in both of England's games across an international break twice.

The fact that Stones is everywhere on the pitch when he plays takes a massive toll on his body. For example if he just played like a normal cb against young boys he would have had no defending to do and it would have put less strain on his body. Similar issue with KDB in the sense that as both of them get older we will have to figure out how to best play them where they won't keep picking up injuries. Very sad for Stones and I hope he has a quick recovery from this latest injury setback.

Poor guy, he played 3 matches with a week of rest in between each match (two in which he was sub after 70 min). It sucks, but if you cannot play him every 7 days, and once in a while every 3 days, then when? Every 15 days and from time to time every week?

The reality is he is so injury prone, that no matter how careful you are, Stones will be out at least a third of the season.
Just because he's injury prone is not an argument for not managing his game time and IMO he should not have been selected for last night's game.
It may well be that in the future he has to play in a more traditional less demanding CB role.

Exactly what injury do we think he has, and how bad is it really, that he can stroll off the pitch at half time and climb the stairs to the dressing room without any noticeable impairment? I think this could well be nothing more than him reporting a tightness and the club taking precautions!

He was injury prone before he got licence to roam around the pitch.

I’m surprised we’ve not improved his injury record. We seem to be able to do it with most other players.
