All the new George Bests

they super hype one every "generation" united need to keep their one academy product in every team since whenever going, its the only "record" they've got left after we smashed them all :)
That myth was debunked a while back. They tried to count match day squads with John O'Shea as the academy player when he didn't come through their academy.

100%
Had this out with a know it all rag a few years back after I scanned through rag starting line ups and found a few where only Johnny O' Shite was claimed to be home.grown.
He signed from an Irish club aged 17 and never played in an FA Youth Cup game.

He's as much a home grown player as Tony Casxarino is Irish

I thought I’d record it on here, for posterity, about Mainoo being the new Seedorf, and set off to find the BBC article.

Seems like the worm has turned, and it’s been retrospectively airbrushed from history.

I searched for the article and found a tweet

Which you can see above… quite clearly states the Seedorf comparisons as a byline.

Click on the link, and the article changes to:

Where the Seedorf comparison is a small part of the story. Wonder why?!
