Season Tickets - 2024/25

The Streisand effect is an unintended consequence of attempts to hide, remove a banner, or censor information, where the effort instead backfires by increasing public awareness of the information.
Mmmm banner washing?

And if the tifo had been left there all match then you might have had a point...

The protest banner was dropped earlier and removed before the teams came out and the match went live. The stadium was also half full. If you look at the pictures, the ‘20 metre’ banner was only partly covering a section of one advertising board. The banner wasn’t covering the advertising boards when the stadium was full and when the match went live as it had already been removed by the stewards. The tifo was left there when the players came out and the match went live on TV covering all the advertising boards.

As has been pointed out, not once has the club removed a 1894 drop down banner on SSL2 in 11 years. In fact, the club has been involved in many of those drop down banner displays over the years, giving 1894 accreditation so the drop down banners could be done. Yesterday was the only time the club via it’s stewards have ever removed a drop down banner on SSL2 claiming it was done because it blocked the very same advertising boards that have been blocked with banners over the last 11 years. You work that one out. But thanks for your support.

Do you not get it? The point is that we’ve been hanging banners from that exact same spot in SS2 for 11 years now and this is the first time we’ve ever been told to remove one. What the club are saying is utter horseshit and they’re not fooling anyone.

1894 were forced to remove the banner by stewards, who were told to do that by the club. When the banner was removed by the stewards it was confiscated by the stewards. If the only issue was about the banner blocking the advertising boards, as the club claim, why did stewards confiscate the banner instead of asking 1894 to remove it and to take it away? The advertising boards are a convenient reason and excuse to explain why the banner was removed. We all know why the protest banner was removed by the club. The club are lying.

I can't understand why people are getting so wound up about a banner being confiscated.

Lots of honeyed words from Khaldoon stating that supporters are paramount to the club in his end of season interview and all will be forgiven...

Myabe because of the lying and hypocrisy by the club. There has never been a problem with hanging a banner that covers the advertising boards on SSL2. Certainly not since 1894 have been doing it, helped by the club.

If you look at the wording on the banner, it doesn’t attack the club by name or by an individual at the club, which may have be a valid reason to remove the banner.

The only reason the club removed the banner was to stop any public sign of dissent from the fans.(1894)

I think you misunderstood my post.

What they did yesterday underlines the huge disconnect between the club heirachy and supporters. PR bullshit from Khaldoon means nothing.

If it was just about the banner covering the advertising boards as the club claims, why after the banner was removed from the advertising boards were 1894 members followed by the stewards on to the SSL1 concourse and hand their accreditation passes forcibly removed off them by the stewards? What has that got to do with the advertising boards being covered with a banner?

Time to dig out the tennis balls

Renewals finish on Thursday (did mine on the first day). Most will have renewed already but when the window closes a big majority will have done so as there is no option if you want to keep your SC. Any non-renewals are wins for the club as they go to the match day sale pot and further reduce the overall number of SC holders.

I can't see any change in the club policy unless and until we have a downturn and demand for high priced tickets reduces substantially.

I'll be honest, I think the club is going to struggle to fill 8,000 extra seats for mid-week games, games with bottom of the table teams and games in poor weather at the prices they're asking. We aren't going to magic up 8,000 extra tourists for Burnley on a school night in January at £60 a pop. The attendance for Brentford a few weeks back was the lowest for a while. Between the parking ban around the ground and the opening of Co-op Live transport issues are going to become more apparent. At the core of our fanbase are people who have been going for decades and ordinary people from Greater Manchester and 50 miles around. The first group has seen it all and the second group aren't earning Fulham fan money. Do the club want to see rows of blue gaps like we had back in the day? Because if they keep raising ST and matchday ticket prices, reducing the senior discount, and artificially restricting the supply of season tickets, that's what we're going to end up with for a number of fixtures. And that ain't going to look good to overseas audiences on TV.

if you're serious about protesting against price rises, there's something practical you can do. I dropped Platinum this season, so the club is getting less money from me overall. If there's another price increase, then I'll probably fuck the CL scheme off. That's another seat they'll have to find a buyer for and lower costs for me.

Perhaps we should all do something coordinated like boycott the League Cup scheme. That will get more attention in the boardroom than a banner.
