I was walking around the Etihad yesterday, stopping around the main entrance of the CB stand, having a good look around, a general look at the fans, listening to the different languages being spoken. and taking everything in before the match. We’ve become like Barcelona. If you’ve been to Barcelona you will have noticed the amount of tourists, day trippers, and football fans that fill the Camp Nou on a regular basis. They are now filling the Etihad.
To look at it from another angle @jrb some of those people could have been living and working in Manchester and just got together with their friends/relatives from their home countries and so speaking in their native language as it's easier.
(Devil's Advocate that's me....or just a devil?)

The Chinese man and his son, sitting next to me yesterday were telling me that they paid just over £3,000 for their tickets. He said that the taxes were a large part of that so I am assuming that they bought them before they came over. I didn't ask as I was concentrating on the game at the same time. :-) He had asked me how much my ticket was.

How do you think the players feel when they've worked their bollocks off for 90 minutes, then AFTER the final whistle they have the good grace to applaud the fans and we've all fucked off or are queuing to get out with their backs to the pitch, it's embarrassing. Like I said previously...applaud them off and show some appreciation.
I’m sure £200k per week takes the edge off any hurt feelings the players might have when people don’t wait to applaud them off.

I don’t know if he does. But he spends a lot of time on BM arguing with other posters, just for the sake of it.

PS. He does!
Sake of it ? No I'm replying to the idiot posts on here, ALL MOANING about one thing or another, slating the club, slating the players, NO TOURISTS etc etc...Its fucking embarrassing.

Are you okay mate? Genuinely not asking that sarcastically, no agenda at all.

I make use of the mental health thread in the Off Topic area. It helps me, I have PTSD and I find it useful.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea of course, but if you are struggling it might be worth checking it out at least. Also feel free to PM me, as long as it’s non-abusive of course.

Cheers.

I'm fine thanks :)

SS3 near the away fans and at least half old school blues never sing. They attend matches but don’t support the team on the pitch. Nothing to do with tourists.
Same near me. They arrive 10 mins after game starts. Sit there, arms folded and usually moaning about tourists, discuss York away. Leave 10 mins before half time for a few pints. Come back 10 mins into 2nd half. Leave 10 mins early for the pub.

They guy behind me was going absolutely radio rental at the folk leaving early.
At one point he was threatening actual physical violence to people.

Here we go again. I’m a “so called City fan” because I’ve asked you, in a respectful way, why you lash out at everyone. I am an actual City fan, and very proud of it.
Christ it’s not often I see eye to eye with you Eric but you’re spot on here.

I blocked this fool a while back.

“pride in battle “ lol

I suspect his moniker is the direct opposite of his character. Another online warrior who wouldn’t say boo to a goose in the real world

75% of our season ticket holders cant be bothered to get off their arses to go to a FA cup semi final, yet the same folk will moan and groan about tickets getting into the hands of City card members and tourists.
Word.

In a world of choices and expense, people make their own decisions, but can always find an “other” reason why things they don’t like are the way they are.

80 minutes on the clock and people start leaving.....it really is weird
I don’t get it, wtf do you come for if you aren’t staying until the end, it was a bank ho,I day the next day, the roads weren’t that busy, just stay until the final whistle, imagine missing a vital goal at the end, it beggars belief.
