I know he hasn't been great of late but I would have played him in this one. I understand KDB sitting it out as he's going to need resting for some games but Haaland is young and, unless injured, I would start him. Alvarez works hard but doesn't have the pace to get behind their defence, nor the presence in the box to get on the end of many crosses.
We don't put in many crosses

He doesn't look anywhere near fully fit or in elite condition.

Sluggish is how I'd describe him.

IMO....We now need much more movement and interchange of forward players and positions.

Vikingo coming orf the bench may be the best plan for a few games.
The false 9 system at its peak was for me the finest team we’ve ever had, a level above even last season’s team

Whether it would be quite so effective without Gundog is debatable as is the question of whether even Pep would be brave enough to drop big Erl

I’m happy to see KDB on the bench. Him sulking when he come of still has me annoyed. He doesn’t seem sharp enough to play 90 minutes every game. He’s currently playing like it’s half way into pre season. And that’s not me digging him out. He just needs to be patient. And get back to his best.

T-minus 3 minutes until Bluemoon meltdown.

Becoming increasingly obvious that pep doesn’t rate Nunes. Gonna be tough to offload him and Phillips this summer. With a small squad we can’t carry passengers

We don't put in as many as most teams but likely to be even less if Alvarez is the only target there. I think Haaland gives the opposition defence a lot more to worry about (even off form) than Alvarez does but we'll see what happens.
