He put the right players on the pitch, told them what to do, not his fault they didnt execute. This isn't a playstation game, the players are in control when they cross that line.

Unless, as we've found out, both told him they were on empty, he's not a fool or a criminalControlled the game but Madrid allowed us to do that. They came to defend. No different to how 99% of other teams come here so that’s not particularly on Pep.
But taking Haaland and Kev off when the game was so obviously crawling to pens is criminal.
Got the tactics alright but will have to shoulder some of the responsibility. Too many players are running on empty because the small squad philosophy needs a rethink and because he's been badly, badly let down by those in charge of recruitment.
Somewhere along the line mistakes have been made, and if he’s involved in that, then yes he is culpable to a degree.I am sure he has the final word, so he should take responsibility for his choices.
i really hope they will rethink, if they think this year they are running on empty, then next season it will be extra difficult.Got the tactics alright but will have to shoulder some of the responsibility. He’s always been consistent in criticising the amount of football players are being asked to play, yet at the same time he’s been consistent in maintaining a small squad of first-team players. That I’ve always found a little logically inconsistent, but he knows much more than us.
It now costs £100 million plus to do that, however. Grealish and Gvardiol have been excellent additions, and bargains such as Akanji can still be found, but we need to be able to distinguish the sowe’s ear.I agree, but I knew Kalvin Philips was not the right choice to start with
Same as Kovacic
He should only buy players who can walk in the starting Eleven, otherwise he can fill the back up spots for academy players.
Kovacic was a sticking plaster, a short term, no brainer of a signing, he has done exactly what was expected.I agree, but I knew Kalvin Philips was not the right choice to start with

What would you advise with Nunes, who cost more and never featured in any leg against Real Madrid?Kovacic was a sticking plaster, a short term, no brainer of a signing, he has done exactly what was expected.
Missing out of Bellingham and Paquetta were the ones that hurt.
Phillips was a joke of a signing, never good enough and was never going to be good enough, and he should have been dumped without hesitation last summer.
I personally would stick with him, he's a talent for me, but if we are utterly ruthless this summer, he will go.What would you advise with Nunes, who cost more and never featured in any leg against Real Madrid?
If he were a talent (at our level), he would have been on the pitch in either leg. Another year and, like Phillips and Cancelo, his value will be negligible.I personally would stick with him, he's a talent for me, but if we are utterly ruthless this summer, he will go.
You can add Nunes to that too. Panic buy who will never be good enough for this level.Kovacic was a sticking plaster, a short term, no brainer of a signing, he has done exactly what was expected.

Fair point, I just hope this summer we show the intent like the old days from day one of the window opening. If he were a talent (at our level), he would have been on the pitch in either leg. Another year and, like Phillips and Cancelo, his value will be negligible.
Then what do you do with KDB if a 100m cash offer comes along. If he were a talent (at our level), he would have been on the pitch in either leg. Another year and, like Phillips and Cancelo, his value will be negligible.
Another non scoring attacking player. Id advise the door for him. Not fit for purpose. What would you advise with Nunes, who cost more and never featured in any leg against Real Madrid?
