Why wasn’t there another ball available to avoid the hold up? There’s loads of them round the pitch during the game, where were they during the penalties?

Ok not interested might not seem like the right word but it's more like he doesn't even think or believe that he could save it. I have watched most of his pens and its like he picks a spot and just dives without paying attention to the player's eye movement and stance, sometimes he dives way too early. Eddie wouldn't have saved that Bernie's pen yesterday as he would have gone too early and watching the replay, you could clearly see that Bernie's eye and feet coordination gave him away.

When it comes to Penalties, All players rely on the eye and feet coordination, these are things penalty specialists look out for. It might not be too late for Eddy to improve in this part of his game but it might be wise to focus on the individual strengths of the keepers rather than try to introduce a new style of training. That way we have Eddy for normal time and Ortega for pens.

We started the game as if we were saving ourselves for a possible 11/12 games left in the season.
Mistake.
Last season we just went and rioted all over them.
Pep was way too respectful in his teams approach to the game last night.
Why?
Proved last season there's no room for sentiment.
Positives are 2-3 games less so no excuses in the league as we hold a 2 pt advantage.
Oh yeah and Arsenal are out, as well as the dippers in another cup tonight

Ball boys froze. Too nice and too good for our own good, remember when the dipper ball boy pulled all the tricks in the bag for Arnold's goal against Barcelona, yeah our ball boys would probably be shocked in disbelief rather than throw the ball back quickly.

I find it very hard to get down when we go out and play with the intent that the manager has ingrained into the team.

Could Walker have held the line better on their early goal - yes.

Could Crazy Eddie have pushed the ball out slightly out of harms way - possibly.

Could the Ginger Prince have taken hot chance from 8 yards out - absolutely.

Could Bernado have had s go at trying to score his penalty - sure.*

But we forced Madrid into being a very well coached defensive unit and hitting the channels on the break (our own style forces them to play in this manner).

Still PLENTY to play for this season folks - let's continu to back the team...........!!!!!

* Did no-one else immediately think of his namesakes lacklustre penalty at home to Wigan that time?

Look at the bigger picture, top of the league and an FA cup semi final to play.
Last night will benefit us come the end of the season, might not feel that to some but we'll get some well deserved rest and recharge for the final push.
