Russian invasion of Ukraine

The one highlighted from Doha to Prague, just shows a normal route on Flightradar24, and is currently over Romania.

yeah seems to be just plane finder with this issue. spotted it last night and it only happens over Crimea.

I wonder if flightRadar has some logic to filter it out.

From "The Analyst":

HEROIC DEFENCE FAILS TO OVERWHELMING FORCE

Ultimately the Russians want to reach Pokrovsk from the Avdivka direction because it’s the key logistics and command hub for Ukraine in this sector. However it’s behind several layers of defence lines.
To get to it they have to take the first main line and that requires capturing Berdichi, before they can move on.
The aim is to take Ukrainian troops into a pocket - this usually fails but it forces their withdrawal to prevent it happening.
The main line of defence is the Dirna river, and it’s to the north of this line the Russians pushed through their spike offensive when Ukraine cocked up a rotation of its forces, leaving it unprotected. Birdichi is right on the corner of the spike and the defence line, so it’s come under immensely heavy attack.
The Russians have lost a mass of equipment in the opening stages of this attack. Thirty plus armoured vehicles, trucks and support vehicles littered the area and they lost 1300 troops in a couple of days.
Over and over again the Russians pushed two or three vehicles into the arena in an effort to get troops into the ruined houses on the edge of Berdichi. Every time drones wrecked their attacks and prevented them reaching their targets. These attacks were often supported by T-80’s with drone electronic countermeasures pods on their turrets - however they clearly weren’t working. Ukraine recently captured one so presumably they were able to use it to work out how to prevent it jamming their drones.
Having used up a great deal of resource attacking front-on, the Russians adapted to try and outflank the defences from the north. The supply of weapons and troops for these attacks is being taken from the Avdivka coking plant - where the Russians are using the buildings to hide what they’re doing.
To reach the frontline the Russians have to cross open ground for over 2km and are almost sitting ducks, so their tanks were quickly taken down by drone corrected artillery. Russian tactics here are hard to believe, as they start sending individual vehicles to make the crossing - the results are predictably gruesome. Next came two armoured vehicles and an ATV which drove fast across the open dry ground and were stopped just short of the village. Some of the troops escaped and tried to reach their objectives but Ukraine long ago learned you cannot let the Russians get a foothold so they too were eliminated.
Despite these brave defences and relentless determination, the problems for Berdichi were coming not from the East but from the Northwest. The Russian spike towards Orchetyne was wide enough to push the defenders from a direction with little defence. There was no choice but to withdraw and the Ukrainians moved back to their next defence line.
One tiny mistake in a rotation process led to one of the biggest Russian advances in months - coupled to a shortage of artillery.
Russian forces have been unusual in that they have seen and used a weakness and yet again their spike offensive tactics - using road and rail to advance along, widening the breach as they go, have proved successful. They have also poured resources into this opportunity at unusual speed, knowing they don’t have much time to maximise their chances; An entire motorised infantry Division and three additional brigades.
There are some who say that these advances are small and barely change anything in the bigger picture - but that is both insulting and naive.
Each loss is territory that will have to be fought for again to get back. Each loss makes the war last longer. Each defence held for days or hours is more of Russia’s gold and manpower thrown away, eating at the cancerous soul of the Putin’s state. It matters every time.

CONTINUES (1/2)
CONTINUED (2/2)

That’s why it matters that so many devote so much time and effort to cover these things. That’s why it matters that you care. The world may try to forget this war but it remains the existential trial of our time. I will not forget it. Ukraine must win and we must learn from our failure to do enough soon enough.

The price is being paid every day.

Slava Ukraini !

The house of the head of German Rheinmetal last has been firebombed.
Telegraph Article:

Supposedly by a left wing organisation for Germany NOT supporting a pivot to oppose Russia. Bizare if so as Russia is now a right wing Fascist state.
I can believe it; however, as I know far too many left wing activists who still support Russia.
