PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Yeah that’s my view too mate. Organisations make calls based on the information before them at the time and cannot possibly be expected to anticipate how matters will develop. I expect it was seen as an irritation and an act of egregious disrespect at the time, rather than anything that could be a real threat to our hegemony.

And looking back, it was actually a serendipitous decision as (assuming the act gave Liverpool added impetus, which I think it did) it has given us a consequent rivalry which contains three epic title races (four, if you include this season) where we have come out on top - with some truly incredible memories along the way.

And Liverpool got to lift the PL trophy in an empty stadium.

Seems like poetic justice to me.
Where was the PL & their 'acting in good faith' rule.

I wish City had taken this to the highest level and hung #NeverCenturiansorTrebleWinnersSpursyPool out to dry to expose their vile cheating culture for all to see !!

I've 'liked' your post because I endorse the sentiment expressed in your final sentence (!!) but also mainly because you include a mention for what is arguably a contender for being 'The Greatest Album of All Time'*, namely Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On' (* nb, other contenders are available..)

Were I to be wearing one, my cap would be doffed in your general direction, sir..

Anyway, back on thread, the English Red Cartel is a bunch of self-entitled twunts and to borrow from Santana, they deserve 'Everything (that's) coming (their) way..'
The problem is The Green Manalishi.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Liverpool weren’t a rival on the pitch at the time and City settling for £1m was perhaps because we didn’t perceive them to be a big threat. They finished something like 8th in 2012/13, whereas we finished 2nd. If it had been United employees who had done it, we’d have kicked up a lot more of a stink about it IMO. It was a serious miscalculation on City’s part as the very next season Liverpool went toe-to-toe with us for the title and have subsequently tried to ruin us in other ways.

I think it was more likely it was in our interests to settle and not want the FA involved either.

Last time I was in Jordan told me he is writing a book on FFP and that his view has "evolved" over time. I don't think it is anything to do with letters. And to be honest had they had a letter, I suspect they would have told me because it would have been relevant to know ("if we get on to City please be careful" or whatever). Either way, Jordan's change of position is not brand new.

Is this one of those, what a difference a comma can make, jokes?
How do you think Stefan got the gig in the first place?

I know full well that we 'won'.

IMO, it was a pyrrhic victory that cost us the moral highground and let them bastards of the hook of public embarrassment and potential PL/FA sanctions.

Never give a sucker a second chance !!
How can you describe the last six seasons as a pyrrhic victory ffs?! It’s a plain and outright victory.
