A lot of City fans are mentally scarred by Spurs as a result of the amount of defeats in really big games down the years. For older types, it goes all the way back to the 1981 FA Cup final and then the QF in 1993. Then more recently, the game that decided CL qualification in 2010 (would have been first time ever for either club) and the CL QF in 2019. Added to all that is our terrible record at the new stadium prior to this season’s FA Cup tie.
I totally agree that we should win comfortably there but old habits die hard!
I'm neither scarred nor scared.

We have been robbed by some of the worst refereeing decisions in modern times against spuds.

Two missed penalties at key times in games also didn't help.

Fear no one !!

If they don't win the title most tarquins will be screaming for his head.

I really don't think so. On the contrary, they think he's done a very good job to have them challenging City seriously. Big difference from the final years of Wenger. And indeed Arteta's first season. And they are a youngish team, who should be as good next year.

Ah but we're not just casually pocketing another treble, you know. And that's failure

It's weird but we are now held to standards that we ourselves have created. Haaland going to win the Golden Boot hands down, but it's been a “poor” season, because he didn't score north of fifty! What the actual fuck?
Yeah, it's funny because in some ways I don't think we've quite been at our best, but as you say our best is some of the best football that has ever been played on a pitch in England for the history of the sport.

But people don't fully appreciate Pep's levels, how's he has negotiated an injury plagued team, gone off and won a super and world cup amidst an already jammed schedule etc etc

People thinking that Spurs may be at something less than 100% against us next week; can't the same be said about Trafford's finest next weekend? They'll hardly want to be giving us any help to win another title, are they?

No way. He's improved the team massively so we can compete hopefully to the last day. And the ceiling of Arsenal is very high given the youth of our key players, the fact that there's a once in a generation wonderkid coming through who may break into the team next season, and that with a ninja striker up front we'd be more clinical.

Doesn't mean we overtake City as you'll improve as well, but we are going blow for blow with the best team in the world and the best coach in the world.

We'll be more experienced in the CL next year as well. If Arteta left who else would we be able to get in that's better? It's not like Pep would take the job. The other supermanagers are Klopp and Ancelotti. After those guys Arteta is on par with who is left and he's still early 40s and learning fast.

Like I've said before, we'll be competing with City for prizes for the next 4 or 5 years. Doesn't mean we'll win them of course, but on the flip side at least you'll not need to worry about your team bus getting smashed up by your title rivals before a crunch match. Every cloud.

This title race has been fascinating and it's not over yet. And it's not a done deal that MCFC will be champions. Will go to the last day. In fact, every single title race that we've been involved in (including ‘68, can't speak for ‘37, wasn't born, calling @Gary James) has been like that, with the single exception of 2017-18.
It is just pure bad faith. Not just from Trafford Park supporters, but also from that feral crowd from just south of Stanley Park in Liverpool. They never found it boring when they won it time after time for two full decades, with occasional one-season breaks off. Did they hell find it boring.
You want to talk boring? Celtic and Rangers, who have shared the Scottish title between them since virtually forever; Bayern Munich amassing 11 — that's eleven! — titles on the trot; Real Madrid and Barcelona (read as for Scottish league); Juventus winning 9 — that's nine! — titles on the trot. PSG who will carry on winning the French league for the foreseeable future.
And we may win four on the trot?
Just sheer bad faith.

I‘d be quite happy if we won eleven titles in a row, or indeed every title and trophy available for the next 50 years. It certainly wouldn’t be boring. In fact the more 6-0 wins and 100 point seasons the better.

I could easily agree with you, but you and I know full well that that's not going to happen. Because the English Premier League is the most competitive in the world (or at least it is now), and that's what makes it exciting for the world at large (and not just City fans, or Liverpool fans, or whoever).

Arsenal Mania is a funny place. The irony of them calling us an oil club when they play in the ‘Emirates Stadium’ is lost on them.

It's such a tired, meaningless jibe. It really is the last refuge. I'm always tempted to ask, “You run a car or two by any chance in your family? Ah, thought so. Ta for the subsidy, then.”

I think Spurs played well vs Arsenal but were unlucky and vital refereeing decisions went against them. On another day, they could have easily drawn or even won that game. The good thing is that they might be reluctant to help Arsenal win the title...
Fans might be - players are pros, and we're a huge scalp (especially for them apparently as they always raise it against us at their gaff).
Just gotta play to OUR strengths, and try not to be wide open like we've been most of the season (and I include yesterday in that)

As bad as our record is against Spurs at their new ground, how many of the games have been must wins? I fee like they’ll all been at a part of the season where there was still plenty of points to play for.

We know what we need to do at this stage of the season.

Chelsea are winning vs W Ham by 5 goals and have had 14 shots on target :) Arsenal will fear a complete collapse should GD matter going in the final day of the PL season...
