The hate towards Pickford goes on today. Even Carragher and other ex reds feel a need to mention it still on TV and in the press. However, they never mention the two earlier tackles by VD that went unpunished. Trouble for VD was that Pickford was not going to back out of a tackle. You reap what you sow.

Friends and family of mine go to Greece where are they told that Scousers are hated there. Switzerland, the same. Los Angeles, the same. They cannot always be wrong.
There is obviously something very wrong with the mentality of a lot of dipper fans if people from such far-flung destinations are united in their hatred of them.

The 'country' of Liverpool fans abroad = Russians abroad.

Nobody likes either of them.

Unpleasant, arrogant, obnoxious, loud, spending ill-gotten gains, persecution complex, think everyone else loves them, etc etc

They are of a type the non scouse LFC fans they seem desperate to belong to this mythical scouse nation, bellends the lot of them

I really admired 70s, 80s Liverpool despite it being a dangerous away trip. They were the epitome of professionalism and were relatively modest as a club quietly getting on with winning matches and League and European titles. I actually wanted them, Forest and Villa to win those European Cups. Then in 1985 after 39 people died at Heysel when their chairman blamed Chelsea when it was Liverpool fans who got English clubs banned something changed outwardly at least. The big change came when City became serious challengers that was in Liverpool's way. Brendan Rodgers with his "we'll unleash our fans" on City ahead of that 13/14 game at Anfield incited their fans who didn't need any encouragement to attack City fans including women children and the disabled. Their fans cheered when Yaya pulled up injured on in a game for which City supporters took an ad out in the Liverpool programme and held up a banner in the support for justice for Hillsborough victims and their families. It was clear that Liverpool fans had become extremely nasty, entitled and violent towards City. No club or fans are perfect but their continued vile behaviour on and off the pitch with bus attacks etc, machiavellian boardroom plots with campaigns to damage City, plus hacking City computers make them to be the worst of the very worst with Uniturd and Arsenal not far behind.

I wish them nothing but misery, the whole lot of those three plus Tottenham, and their a lesser degree, the rest of the nasty nine.

That's a really good, well thought out post. It'd be so much better if you'd just typed "United" instead of "Uniturd" though.

Jesus. You know what, I feel sad that just because some individuals behave like this, the whole fanbase gets a bad rep.

If our fans were doing stuff like that (and come on, we can't be naive enough to think our fans don't do their fair share of nasty shit) would we want other fans saying we're all violent bastards? No, we wouldn't.

Does someone maybe want to suggest that her husband is a brick throwing, ambulance rocking, coin lobbing, foaming at the mouth bin dipper who doesn't want 'er indoors to know what he gets up to at the football?
