PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Apologies for going slightly off piste but just wondered what others thought about this conversation me and my brother had last week. We've all been so busy defending the allegations that nobody has really discussed how we should feel if we are found guilty.

Like most of you on here I seriously doubt that our owners would commit such a wide range of fraudulent acts when we really never needed to and I believe we have no reason not to trust Khaldoon when he says we have irrefutable evidence to prove our innocence but just playing devils advocate for a moment...

If we were found guilty and it all comes out that the allegations were true and it was proved beyond all doubt that our owners used tactics to circumnavigate/break the rules to gain a sporting advantage - how would you feel about our owners after such a judgement and would you just forgive them for tarnishing our clubs name because we won some (well quite a lot) of trophies?

Would any of you be angry with our owners for taking the club we have loved all our lives and dragging it through the mud for commercial gain and leaving us as fans to deal with the shit show it leaves behind (as we are now)? I feel there would never be any coming back from it as every success from here on out would just be met with the old 115 cheat tag from rivals a they are doing now before our case has even been heard. It would almost be like - what's the point anymore, we were better off without the success but our integrity in-tact.

If the owners brought that upon us I just don't know how I would feel about it all. I think it would be fair to be very angry with them.
I will be so ashamed that I will have my arm with a City tattoo on it chopped off.

Might be completely wrong but I’d be surprised if it was anything as clear cut as definite guilt. It would be balance of probability and interpretation of the rules. - Mansour meeting the initial costs of Etisalat and being repaid was giving misleading information, the image rights arrangements were not in the spirit of the rules, that kind of thing. City’s top team would continue to protest their innocence, the red mafia would claim victory, appeals would drag on. But hopefully everything will be thrown out for lack of evidence. And I’d still back the club 100% whatever

It’s not indifference, more likely resignation to our current dominance. There’s a big difference. The lack of competitiveness argument is also bollocks - we’ve had Liverpool and now Arsenal push us right to the end on numerous occasions. That is the very definition of competition.

The contrast between the medias present narrative - the PL is boring - contrasts sharply with the wankathon that accompanied Liverpool running away with the title during Covid - that was a dull climax to the season but I heard absolutely no complaints from the media about a lack of competition! I wonder why ?

Has something changed/happened?
No , the record is still broken when you have to explain each and every one the “if” part which has been dissected ,rinsed and repeated to infinity on this thread by some of our knowledgeable members here.
Tomorrow I might wake up and ask what if, again and we all go thought that vicious cycle like never ending story.

I suspect City wouldn't want it resurrected either, why people keep bringing it up is just "whataboutery" nonsense. You'd have thought City fans would know better given all the "whataboutery" aimed at us.
It's only been brought up in the context of the PL not charging Liverpool because the incident was long ago, yet they charged us for things that happened before the hacking. Questioning the consistency of the PL, and whether City might cite this as a precedent in our case.

Bad news for those who are expecting this case to get resolved asap or in timely manner.
Pl will just leave this hanging and not give a flying fuck about any common ground. They achieved their end goal , ie smear campaign and it was successful atleast inside thier pea sized brain. City fans can never move past this shit coz this 115 is like dried old shit , the more you poke it , more it stinks.
Or as someone put it earlier, it took them six months to punish Everton and Forest, with one charge each. It should take them 57 years to investigate our 115.

I see with my own eyes how Newcastle Utd have been effectively stitched up by so called FFP. I read somewhere today that Villa may have to sell to abide by it. Their fans will not be allowed to experience success. They have to know their place.

Our owners only so called sporting crime was to invest their own money in our club. Something that in any other business would be celebrated. And something that was never an issue when the cartel dominated.

Any anger should be aimed at those with vested interests who have tried to kill ambition and their media lackeys.

It’s not whataboutery to ask why one historic accusation is investigated and another isn’t.

If the PL had opened an investigation and decided it just didn’t reach the level of a rules breach then fair enough.

But IIRC the reported reason for not even investigating was the timeline which obviously opens up a question of double standards when they subsequently open an investigation and charge us over even older shit.
The "reported reason", surely the main reason was that we'd settled and moved on and had no interest in re-opening an investigation by the FA or PL. There's a lot of posters who need to move on.

Rag.

If the Premier league find us guilty of anything it will make their competition a laughing stock , the most succesful club for over a decade and breaking all records along the way , and it would also instigate legal claims from the red'istree clubs , there will be other clubs claiming financial settlements for missing out on Champs league football the list will be never ending.
If the Premier league want to ruin the reputation of their product then any charge or settlement against us will have a far reaching impact , personally i think Master's and his cohorts are already discussing with our club how they can come out of this with a semblance of order.
