The moaning and criticism on here would be almost unbelievable if it wasn't so fucking predictable.

If the day,date,route is inconvenient to you don't go, but please don't inflict the rest of fandom with a tsunami of whining.

Do you expect Khaldoon do ring everyone to what suits em ?

No school on Tuesday either. It's half term.

If pointing out that every parade has been a Monday, including after the 2019 Saturday fa cup final counts as whining then I'm so so sorry for offending you.

There was me thinking a public forum thread about a parade when the date had literally just been announced I could say I was gutted that we'd be in a train back from London at the time.

But I beg forgiveness for having the audacity to make a post! I thought people were allowed to make comments.... Didn't realise they had to run it by you first.

Sunday before a bank holiday is brilliant. I’m not sure anything will beat last years though. The weather was something else. Walking down market street surrounded by thousands is something I’ll never forget and I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many people in town before.

Correct.

People can travel in on Sunday all day. Come into town early. Have a drink and a meal. Then watch the parade starting at 7.30pm. People will be off work on Monday. The kids won’t be in school. This is the first Sunday parade in years. Monday night parades aren’t great.
 
I’ve always thought trophy parades are mainly for fans not lucky enough to be able to get to games or afford tickets etc. it’s a pricey business football and a bit of a closed shop nowadays in terms of who can get tickets. Parades are great to bring all the fanbase together and for kids to see their hero’s in the flesh. Last year looked great but I was absolutely goosed after Istanbul and just didn’t have the energy.

Nothing will ever top that parade. The rain brought something out of us all and it turned into a proper party. I, like you, was on Market St/St. Mary's Gate. When the buses stopped on the corner, the thunder and lightning was insane and the players were blasting Freed from Desire as Grealish did his famous shirtless photo. The trophies looked even better drenched in Manchester rain. And when it all died down me and my family went to the Corn Exchange for a meal and sat there soaking wet in our City tops. A truly great evening.

I can't afford to pay for 3 train tickets again to get home hours earlier, and they're the ticket type you can't make amendments to.

I've never missed the parade! But even in 2019 when the last of the trophies was the fa cup, city did the parade the Monday. So I thought we were safe... Every parade of the modern era been a Monday! :(

You can actually change most advance tickets nowadays - the rules got more generous a while back, particularly if you have etickets. I would definitely check it out. I assume you booked via Avanti?

Has their been actual confirmation of either Sunday or Monday ?
Coming up from Bristol, as I did last year, and want to book trains and Hotel.

Yes it’s Sunday definitely, shop around for hotels as it’s the Manchester half marathon as well.

It should be cheaper on Sunday night as most hotels will be vacated that night by the runners. Saturday night will be expensive.

Cheap as chips atm. Sunday to Monday. Rooms might start going up in price when the parade date is announced officially.

Have you tried to change your schedule....explained your circumstances to the rail company/hotel,explored all options ?

Where there's a will there's a way !!
 
The parade on Sunday might just miss the rain.

Sun and showers all day, easing in the evening.
