And that’s how I would have sold it at the beginning. “Mr Etihad, I understand that you feel this is a lot to pay but look at our future plan. I can guarantee you that in 5 years time you will regard this as a cheap price to pay and we will show you loyalty going forward. Just sign here please”
After all the club has the best managers, players, lawyers. Why not the best salesmen too?

I have no worries about the fairness of the panel, obviously we all hope the "irrefutable evidence" is just that.

It will make a huge difference because we will be able to laugh at every bitter comment from them whereas at the moment we only have the innocent until proven guilty card. The fact we’re 99% sure that the club will be vindicated means nothing until commission makes its decision formally. They will all join in the huge conspiracy narrative and will get laughed at by sane people who aren’t stupid.

If no one is bothered about Bet365 sponsoring Stoke or King Power sponsoring Leicester when it’s actually the owners’ businesses sponsoring the clubs, why are they bothered about a company that happens to share its domicile with the clubs owners in much the same way as many sponsors of all the American owned clubs. It’s hypocritical nonsense.

It's got nothing to do with this case at all, but everything to do with damaging a country's reputation. You do understand that comparisons don't have to be directly related?

The point is clearly that MBS did something so atrocious so as to damage his reputation and that of Saudi Arabia. In spite of the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been able to continue business as usual by purchasing Newcastle United, setting up LIV Golf and securing the Club World Cup.

So whilst the fallout of any negative verdict might impact the UAE in the immediate term, there is no reason to believe that the UAE will suffer irreparable damage as a result.

It will to me. I could give two fucks about any "labelling". As long as we are cleared and free to continue operating as one of the world's greatest clubs and continue with our pursuit of excellence on the pitch...

I would imagine because those sponsorship deals will be subject to "fair value" under FFP and stated as "related parties" in their accounts.

Ours Etihad and Eitsalat deals are clearly not declared as such in our accounts and have not been subject to any fair evaluation.

Despite no such accusations in any actions against us by UEFA, despite potential differences of opinion in the 2014 settlement, our valid assertion is IAS 24 applies and those deals are not "related", UK media and generally social media point the finger of accusation insinuating they are. It is another red herring and part of the whole "cheating" narrative purported by our detractors, a subject readily agreed on by red shirted shithouses in pubs and red club forums yet not the subject of any investigation or PL charge. Just more to wail about to the moon and enabling them to sleep soundly under their Ryan Giggs duvets.

Invent some proper rules you bunch of divs like Live within your means and Don’t spend what you can’t afford.

Only in the opinion of a sports body, not in the real world unless the police or HMRC decide to prosecute. If the Premier league had evidence of fraud they shouldn’t be holding a sporting investigation they should be involving the police and handing over this evidence.
