Car Insurance

Renewed mine last week with an increase of £30. Checked out all the comparison sites and all were showing at least £80-£100 more. First time I've stayed with same company.

mine went from £680 last year to £1240 quotation this year.

that was with hastings so fucked them off and managed to get £760 with Admiral.

Not bad considering

Imagine what its going to be like for all those people who parked in the car park at Luton airport. Not much they could do about it but going to be stung at renewal time

But unfortunately you also pay for the twats who dont bother having insurance or have insurance that doesn't actually cover them e.g motor traders insurance, the misuse of which is rife around Bradford and Birmingham. Yet the fine is only £300, why aren't they lobbying the government to make this £3000 ?

Then there's the fraudulent claims bunch.
And more and more won’t bother as they’ll just take the fine IF they get caught, cunts

the fine could be £10k it doesn't matter as they wont pay it anyway

Instead it should be if you get caught driving without insurance you lose your right foot.
Oi! I paid mine last December and added my youngest daughter on as a named driver.
In January this year, I had a below - knee amputation of my right foot!
(Hopefully, I am due a prosthetic leg next month).
The DVLA are absolute bastards
;-)

If anybody is thinking of going with Yoga insurance, then DON'T! They use a company called Onecall insurance and they are without doubt, the worst insurance company I have ever encountered. They don't respond to your emails. It's almost impossible to chat to anybody and they use Cowboy scouse panel beaters that send your car back in worse condition that it went in. Avoid them like the bubonic plague.
Useless cunts, took me three goes to get them to take their direct debit when funds were in to cover it, then tried charging me a late fee...When i checked my DD payment plan July and august were not in it and they didn't request a direct debit

Paid 400 last year, done some quotes last month and it was about £450 On comparison sites but my renewal was over £700. Thought I’d leave it for a bit, then realised on Sunday that it was expiring today. Couldn’t get it for less than £530 by leaving it late. Twats

Every year it seems to go up, despite me having an extra years no claims.

I was expecting a bit more this year because of upping my mileage and needing business insurance for my new job. Still robbing twats though

Just renewed mine yesterday for a 16 plate focus gone from £400 a year to £580 nearly a 50% increase

Just got my renewal notification email (the end of next month). Just under €390. Up around 10% on last year, IIRC. That includes a 4.25% government levy of nearly €14 (!), €17 "administration charge", and a non-refundable "breakdown charge" of €30. Those 3 additions are responsible for over €60 (aka 15%) of that premium. But they're still the cheapest I can find, by far. In the past, I've been quoted more than double what my current insurers charge.

The basic premium, without NCB, is eye watering....

My quote went up 84% with no change in circumstances. Got a reduction of only £45 when I spoke to them.
Tried comparison sites and the only ones cheaper were from companies I'd never heard of.

Mine went up similar. Managed to get the cars and house insured for around same as before after a day (and I mean a full day) of calling around. Nightmare.

They say it’s all to do with supply chains etc I bet they don’t come down when everything hopefully goes back to normal. Insurance should be regulated you can’t drive without it so we they have us over a barrel.

My car insurance was due end of December and Esure sent the usual renewal notice, last year £303, this years quote £880. I tried the usual comparison sites and could get it cheaper but then once I'd gone to that company and tried to insure they said our under writers will not insure that vehicle! I have another vehicle which is insured via Churchill, so gave them a call. Cut along story short they said the same, can't insure that vehicle.
By the way it's not a Range Rover.
So tried a specialist insurers and bingo, better cover and £287.
I got this with Footman James. Check google for these types of companies as there not on comparison sites.

PS my road tax is dearer than my insurance.

Just had car insurance quote searches from Money Saving Expert & Compare the Market - lowest premiums from both are all more than double what I currently pay (£684 with RAC) - circs unchanged except me & the car a year older and No Claims a year more. Why?

My insurer sent me a quote that was £90 more than last year.

I did a search and found quotes £120 cheaper than that.

Rang them and they priced matched me without asking for proof of my other quotes.

They’re just cunts basically.

I await my RAC renewal quote with trepidation now... last time it was £200+ up on the previous one
