Car Insurance

Nothing, completely unconvicted of anything, no health issues, one poxy claim against me for £200 13 years ago in 50+ years driving.
I'm guessing that 13 years ago will have gone off your record by now. Don't know about Blighty, but over here there's a ceiling for no claims, and you get no further discount once you pass that. I think it's nine years, and the maximum NCB is 65%.

Looking at buying and Hyundai IONIQ 5 next year.

Checked the insurance cost. Nearly £1300. Nearly £700 more than my Diesel Golf.

Did mine yesterday.
Usually go with Churchill because they are always cheapest for me but I've now gone with someone called Prima.
Never heard of them before but they are a lot cheaper.

I also did one if my cars yesterday. It was with AA and they wanted around 40% more than last year. Quick search and got it back to within about £20. I had to ring AA to cancel the renewal and they offered to match the price. Too late.

I've got a 16 year old who wants to start learning this year. That will be fun.

Quick tip to try and get a better premium. Do the quote as early as you can. Not sure if it’s 45 days in advance you can do a quote from, but try and get it done then (or as close to this date as possible).
There is something in the algorithm (I believe) which whacks the rate up for those who do it late in the day. The data insurance companies have must indicate that people who are late with quoting are more of a risk statistically.

WHAT????? I get that it's a very nice car, and that replacement parts for it (in the event of a prang) will probably be pricey, as would labour in an official RR dealer. But that's horrendous jc. Not being (overly) nosey, but what's your driving history? Have you had a few claims down the years? I had a write off in 2010,but I had NCB protection, and the premium barely moved at renewal time. I'm driving a 2021 Tucson now; ordinary diesel, no electric.

*edit* I see you've already answered the question re your driving history.
Range Rovers are really difficult to insure at the minute.

It's because people can nick them easily with the key fob thing (non technical term). Even JLR won't insure their own cars....

Always been told 26/28 days,I'll have a check before I'm due again.

Always go through topcashback to get your comparisons, I get 45 quid back each year and now do the renewals for the in laws too haha.
