I think this news could be the making of Grealish at City. I’d summarise his time here so far as playing it safe.

It’s almost like he thinks that all he has to do in the game is not fuck up as someone else will win us the game. As a result, he’s lost that spark he had at Villa and takes few risks in the game. It’s like he’s happy to contribute without wanting to be the match winner.

At first I thought it was Pep coaching it out of him or instructing him to keep the ball at all costs. But then you see the way Doku plays and it’s completely different.

Losing his place in the national side means he cannot accept turning up for us and playing safe. He needs to be more selfish and find that spark to be more direct with the ball. We know he’s got the ability to do it and having a full preseason will give him the chance to shine.

Not sure about this. I actually think he plays very similarly to Doku, except he hasn't got the burst of acceleration that Doku has. As a result of this he does end up turning back more often. Not sure Jack can change all that much. He still has his worth to us though.

28 and sbould be in his prime but he has wasted a season , nobody else took it easy and went for the title again, they all had problems in their lives but it didnt affect them for ten months, he has to train well and really want to play or forget it

I don't know to be honest but City are better with him than without him in my view. He can still rotate on the left also.
If on form but he is so off the pace that he contributed nowt in the run in.
Last chance saloon for him

He has to go away and live a quit life, stay out of the front pages and buckle down on his return.
If not his arse will be out the door before you can say Cancelo.

Now I don't think he has the speed of thought or awareness to play there for us. I'd like to be wrong here
No, you are not wrong here!
Grealish is not a Pep midfielder, no matter how talented people may think he is. Being a Pep midfielder is a different level. You'll have to be exceptional. Besides that, he doesn't even have the vision, creativity or the goal threat to be an effective 10 for this city side.

Flash. Grealish is not world-class. Please don't undermine world-class players. I get it, you like Jack. He is a nice lad and whatever tickles you about him but calling him worldclass is punching above his weight and level. Anyway, I doubt me saying this would stop you from making such claims.
Why is he not? Most of his attributes are world class. His technical ability, composure and decision making are second to none. He is a physical specimen that runs all day long. Strong as an ox. Can control the tempo of attack like no one else can. And he's won everything there is on club level. Pep said 100 million is ok for this guy. I think its pretty fair argument to call him worldclass.

Stop kidding yourself! Atributes? I have the attributes to be a world class porn star but I'd probably have an heart attack trying.

He has potential but to be world class he has to be averaging 8/10 for club and country. And that includes enough goals and assists in his position. He's had a piss poor season that even his most vocal fan boys cannot argue with.

I'm not a negative poster but I cannot see Grealish turning it round and having a world class season. I really hope he can but that's my heart ruling my head.

Rumour has it that Villa Bayern and spurs are interested. If we get a decent 50-60M offer I'd sell him a d cut our losses because if we keep him and he has another underwhelming season we'd be lucky to get 30M. If Jack wants to get his game back on track he needs to stay off the booze and get his body and mind fit and fully focused. With Doku now ahead of him to start games I think Jack will be better leaving tbh.

I like Jack, I think he is a breath of fresh air as footballers go, he's an honest, sincere and caring guy, but I wouldn't put him in the top five performers last season. His contribution might be world class but it is intermittent.

The bus suddenly moving forward whilst he's on an unstable bench at the back of the bus isn't an "incident" FFS.
Agreed. Plus whoever said his bus celebrations this year weren’t a good look, FFS he hardly featured this time. A few more looked worse than he did and after the prem party

World class players dictate games, change games and ultimately win games with incredible performances.

Grealish in 3 season had a superb 6 months where he started to look a player that could become what the above sentence just explained.

Sadly this last season he went into reverse and looked like the player when he first joined, utterly and totally underwhelming.

He is a huge talent there simply is no argument there, which makes his performances even harder to take. These problems for me are about mentality, the best players and all the world class players have incredible mental strength and mentality, sadly I am not sure Jack has, he has far too much SELF doubt, he is clearly not the cocky almost arrogant player we see on the pitch particularly in the Villa shirt, he seems very insecure and self doubting.

Personally I think he will go if we get a good offer but if not hopefully the England snub will fire him up and make him want to shove that rejection down Southgate's throat and go on to have the best season of his career.
