Who would your choice by mate for a DM/CM?
Honestly mate I'm not sure, i like Bruno but seems like the deal is too expensive. There isnt a big market out there for talent that can come in and improve us, I know people love to shit on him but Sam Lee could be right and we don't end up doing much business.

I wouldn’t give Barca naff all until they give us the money they owe us for Ferran Torres…
Do we really have to go through this again? The transfer fee was split up in multiple payments, as agreed upon by both clubs. Barcelona would not be allowed to play in the CL if they had overdue debts to any football clubs, by UEFA rules. They have done what they were expected and required to do, nothing more to see here

Its the footballing equivalent of buy now, pay later, with DFS or Harvey Norman.

Wondering what the amortized numbers are on Cancelo and Phillips? I'm guessing it's 30 mil on Phillips. I'm guessing 22.5 mil on Cancelo. I'd take 15 mil for Phillips and 10 mil for Cancelo and eat a 27.5 mil paper loss just to get them off our payroll...

That would be poor from the board to be honest to not even bring in a top class DM?

Fair enough. I have fallen for the “they still owe us £20m for Ferran Torres” line…

Phillips will be £30m as he’s 2/6 into his contract and cost £45m.

Cancelo is hard to work out as we don’t know his actual transfer fee, but let’s assume it’s £60m.

He signed a new 5 year contract 2.5 years after joining, so that be £30m over 5 years, meaning he’s 2 years into that and so £18m ish?

I mean we aren't buying a pint of milk. It's a huge process and so far it doesn't look like the club have identified anyone to be good enough.
We’ve had enough time to identify a target. We need to be careful - Rodri is making noises about his workload… if we try to play him in just about every game again next season he’d be justified if he started to consider his future at City - we are damaging and shortening his career - the present situation cannot continue.

It’s still odd we’re replacing someone who never really played last year - and there is a more pressing long term need on the right side (assuming will need to replaced at some point). We’ve got three who can play as LB.

To be honest, I think we could actually do with someone like Walker on the left - Gvardiol & Aké are bery good at LB but both are CBs. If we have someone that can stretch play, do the runs in behind like Walker does, we could have Rodri pinging those passes behind on both sides.

It has to be Kimmich. It would make sense considering we don't want to pay a huge transfer fee.
It’s the wages which is the problem. We have so much wages being used on average players or players that won’t play. You add up how much Nunes Cancelo Phillips Gomez. That’s a lot of money

hi Gareth
Ha, I should have clarified. I meant someone who can play like we use Walker - offering width and getting behind the defence, but can defend. Hopefully someone who can actually cross though. Personally, I like Robinson from Fulham and Doué from Rennes seems good.

I hope we are still looking for an attacking central option this window though, if Alvarez has to be sacrificed for someone then so be it. We need a boost in the DM/CM area, AM type area, winger and RB imo
