What’s Benjani up to nowadays?
still asleep at the airport i thinkWhat’s Benjani up to nowadays?
Let’s not rewrite history though mate, of course it’s wrong to say he was dog shit, but he didn’t have a single great game playing in the midfield role and it was clearly Pep shoehorning him into the side at times. A manager is allowed to have his favourites, Pep has proved that many times over the years, and that’s his prerogative - he’s done it with Bernie too.
This is key for me. Hopefully he does. He looks like he has the tools and attitude to be a good player. Sadly not even playing next to Rodri and Bernardo helped Nunes or KPIt will be interesting to see if mcatee does better with better players around him
Ive given up on KP , i still think there is a player there in nunesThis is key for me. Hopefully he does. He looks like he has the tools and attitude to be a good player. Sadly not even playing next to Rodri and Bernardo helped Nunes or KP
Earlier you said “he was excellent most of the season”, I was pointing out he wasn’t. Now you agree.I agree, let's not rewrite history, that is what I am saying too.
Like making shit up, that didn't happen.
He wasn't great the whole season. He certainly wasn't shit either. He played a huge part, and covered for two key top players really well.

Doesn`t look like it if the reports are true ref offering a new contract.Yep, I still think that if a team offered 25m for Mcatee, we'd let him go. I want him to be given a chance though
Do you think when everyone is fit he starts in the first 11?I don't agree. Most, and whole are two different concepts.

I wouldnt call him dogshit, he is a very good player that benefitted from his surroundings but dont think he is a first teamer. Not always, but that is not at all what the discussion was about.
People are arguing he was dogshit last year, and that McAtee is better. Both of those are obviously absurd.
Does McAtee start in the first 11 when everyone is fit? Heck does he start ahead of Alvarez if he were still here? No chance. That doesn't mean he has no role.
I'm happy with the move and the fee we got, and happy with whatever way Pep goes forward. People are going way too far with their exaggeration though, and that is all I am pointing out.

tbh i havent been following the argumentI never argued he was btw.

I agree, but heres a hypothethical question,if our big number 9 wasn't Haaland,do you or anyone else think Pep would have preferred Alvarez to most other traditional 9s ?I wouldnt call him dogshit, he is a very good player that benefitted from his surroundings but dont think he is a first teamer.
Yes, think he was great up front tbh, the link with Foden was outstanding in the run they got. They bagged something like 8 goals in 5 games between em.I agree, but heres a hypothethical question,if our big number 9 wasn't Haaland,do you or anyone else think Pep would have preferred Alvarez to most other traditional 9s ?
I think the crucial thing that Alvarez brought in the 8/10 role was his pressing and work out of possession. He wasn’t as creative as we’d probably like and players like Bobb and McAtee may well suit that role more. Not always, but that is not at all what the discussion was about.
