Wrongfully imprisoning someone for 25 years and instead of just paying up you charge them room and board is just so pitifully wrong it's hard to believe it's true.
Whoever thought that gem up needs their arse locking up with the coppers that fitted the lad up.
Labour Government in 2006.... Blairs third term . An amendment to an existing bill fully supported by the Conservatives.
Also capped the maximum payments at £1million if imprisoned for 10 years or more & £500,000 if imprisoned for up to 5 years.
Not the best piece of legislation they came up with.
