They miss the point that if City hadn’t been there they would have won the league with 98 points Credit to them for being second with record points but a real shame that they were always (except once) second best City have raised the bar and it’s up to the others to match it’s not our fault that most fall short

There's no guarantee that they'd have got 98 points if we didn't get 99. We dragged them up to a whole new level for them. The days of winning the league with a low 80s points total have gone.

Can see it playing mind games of sorts, on other teams during matches as they suddenly 'think' they're up against us!

City Blue is distinctively linked and associated with winning ...even refs n lino's are slowly n slyly trying it season by season until our shade of it is reached.

Granted i maybe stretching it a tad :-)

They do not miss it all, it's exactly what's killing them. Take Pep's City out of the equation and history would have been very different for Klopp's Liverpool. Without City these would have been glory days for Liverpool, they are fully aware of it. I mean they did achieve more than decent stuff (and credit to them, as you say), but instead of marking a glorious era in their history books, Klopp's Liverpool will mostly be remembered for constantly finishing second best, behind one of the greatest (if not the greatest, according to Lopetegui) teams in the history of the sport...

So it's not really difficult to understand their attitude, is it? A depressing realisation combined with that culture of theirs destroying their souls, leading to unreal levels of poison and hatred. Hating City has become a way of life for a large part of their fan base. Fact. Nobody should be surprised, if you ask me...
