PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Having read the CAS outcome when it came out, I cannot see how the substantive charges can be proven considering they adjudged there was no evidence. The bar is high and if the PL have 'evidence' of serious fraud, then they would have been duty bound to inform the SFO.

Many of the other charges will likely be disputed on technical grounds such as Mancini's contract which was signed before the PL introduced FFP rules so how can City breach rules that did not exist.

I can't see this being anything other than a big fine for not cooperating and some points deducted for possible procedural breaches which will probably be appealed in the same way Leicester won their case.

As for 100 point deductions or excluded, only somebody with a low IQ and zero understanding of commercial or corporate litigation really thinks that will happen. We will know soon enough though.
"I can't see this being anything other than a big fine for not cooperating and some points deducted for possible procedural breaches which will probably be appealed in the same way Leicester won their case."

Leicester were guilty of breach of PPR rules hook, line and sinker, they got off because of a technicality because the PL messed up on the writing of the rules.

The only thing the PL will have a serious chance of getting us on are non cooperation, the question is will we be happy to take that hit?

They are Juventus, in a country where bribery and corruption is second nature.
I don't know.
After even the most cursory glance at today's headlines - and indeed Boris before Keir and the behaviour of the rest of his lot in selling contracts during Covid or the Post Office Scandal or Greenfell or Hillsborough etc etc, a fella might be forgiven should he conclude the Italians certainly don't have a monopoly on corruption as a way of life.

Are we fuck!
Clearly it depends on the regulations we are found to have broken and the sanctions imposed but let's not forget that in 1919 Leeds City FC were forcibly disbanded in 1919 in response to allegations of financial irregularities regarding illegal payments to players during WW!. They were expelled from the league in 1919 largely because the club's directors refused to cooperate with the FA inquiry and refused to hand over the club's financial records. Allegations, non-cooperation ... sound familiar?

If the Premier league really do suspect us of fraud would they not been better handing over the case to the relevant authorities?

Let the court case play out and see if City have a case to answer

When this is all over and all the smoke has cleared, Masters & the red shirts will have to look us in the eyes. It will be like ‘Battle of the Bastards’ in Game of Thrones where Ramsey Bolton comes face to face with Jon Snow.
I just hope we don't need the "Knights of the Vale" to rescue us at the end

IF we lose we are done as a club, that's how big a deal this is.
With my Cassandra hat on, I think, win or lose, the consequences for both City and the Premier League are impossible to call. If City decide that the charging and/or the conclusion of the ‘Independent’ panel is vexatious and unjustified by the evidence then their owners and maybe some of their associated parties may bring an action against the Premier League

Equally there will be many skeletons in the cupboards of many Premiere League Clubs (United must have a trophy room full of them!) that could bring down the Premiere League as we know it. City will be aware of many of these skeletons. And so on including political and economic pressure on the UK government: or City could go quietly into the dark night, and perhaps the team could migrate to another country.

We just don’t know, except, I would guess, the top league of English football is likely to look very different whichever way the verdict goes.

In subtle ways I would expect our defence team to put these doubts into the minds of the panel.

You're in it already.
Some of the recent comments have had me shaking my head in disbelief.

I can't believe they have the gall to call themselves City fans. Either that or they're from the Colin Shindler "City were better before we were bought out" mindset.
