PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

As far as I know the 'hack' was just City not removing the permissions for old employees. They logged in using their old credentials from when they were employed by City. This is a pretty embarrassing security oversight by us imo and probably why we were happy to settle for a low amount. If they had hired some shady hacker to access our database then I'm sure we would have taken it further.

There is an article today that City will be expelled from all compeitions when found guilty !

They don't want to relegate us, they just want to bury us alive
Yeah that was this morning

This afternoon/ evening we’re being told the agents and representatives are lining up moves for players when we’re thrown out of the premier league

This bullshit is after 4 days of the hearing

Would the IC members really see all the evidence from both sides before the hearing, surely that’s the purpose of the hearing. I can imagine the PL legal team telling the PL that on the basis of the evidence it’s what they believe
The IC would have read the written openings which will refer them to the parties’ key documents and positions. They will be taken through the documents in more detail through the hearing.

I guess it's possible that the 3-man commission had looked at the evidence and come back with the view that it would be a 10 or even 12-point deduction based on the evidence they'd seen so far. And that to save the huge expense of a 3-month hearing, and probably an appeal, the PL were prepared to settle for less, in order to avoid the expense.

It's also possible that they were told that it was the IC's view that it was only 50/50 that they'd land the main allegations, and they wanted to try to get a result without that uncertainty, and one that satisfied the cartel as well.

It could also be possible that they did this entirely off their own bat, having discussed with the cartel what they'd consider the minimum adequate outcome.

We don't know, and we'll only know when the IC makes its findings known.
All pretty unlikely especially before any cross examination which won’t conclude for some time. Right now the best the sides will have is an impression of each ICs members general view. It’s really very very early in a hearing like this

Sporting Director Michael Edwards and two former City scouts Dave Fallows and Julian Ward, who had made the move over to Anfield the year before the settlement was reached in September 2013, are the people in question alleged to have used the login details of a City scout to gain access to the system.

Apologies if it’s a stupid question, but on the more serious allegations (I.e sponsorship) is there any middle ground or is it simply we did it or we didn’t? Basically, is it either a huge punishment or no punishment…or could they decide on a smaller punishment for a ‘technical’ breach or something like that?

Surely the IC will have all read everything beforehand?

And if so, be remunerated for that time.
Doubt it. Documents won’t come alive until pored over in opening, cross examination and then in closing anyway. And the overall bundle will be huge so no chance they will have flicked through the whole of that

How can the IC be I is the 3 members were all appointed by the Premier League?
It smacks of the IC being anything but I.

no there hands are tied with non cooperation, quite sure its a fine only
The club may 'conditionally' concede the non cooperation charge, on the basis of lack of trust following all the leaks from football authorities during recent years.

Why trust trust organisations who've demonstrated they cannot be trusted & are run by our enemies.

Does fire burn ??

I have said this mate, every rival football fan does not want to just punish us, but to execute us, they want us wiped out of existence.

It’s ironic that FFP was brought in to try and safeguard clubs from doing a Bury F.C and going out of business,

Yet if they find us guilty of all these charges that very same rule of FFP could bankrupt us and leave us in financial ruin if they were to throw the kitchen sink and every man and his dog at us,

I really am fed up of this whole situation, I am adamant if we did a Blackburn rovers and won the leauge just once and then faded into obscurity then this whole charade of FFP and independent panels would not be happening,

I am down in London next week, I am tempted to go down to where the actual hearing is taking place, to see if I can gage an atmosphere or feeling of these barristers who are leaving at the end of a days hearing, if I see lord panic I might even be cheeky and ask how it’s going in there lol

It’s a reasonable enough question, and didn’t really deserve some of the (now deleted) sarky responses tbh. Not actually sure of the answer myself, but hopefully someone else with more knowledge can answer it.
