I’ve been trying to convey this to my son with what I’ve watched of Jack recently.
Yes he could come up with more end product, is a criticism that would be fair over the last season or so.
But from what I’ve seen of him so far this season he has been very effective at times only to find others on their heals.
The 0-0 midweek was a prime example. I thought he made a great contribution but others squandered the chances made.

Doku wasn’t being effective especially second half against a 10 man defence.
Jack rarely loses the ball which is what Pep likes, but he looks to have more purpose about him at the moment.

Scoreline flattered Arsenal overall. Any team that resorts to faking injuries is not cute...they are cheats. Arsenal good at defending in numbers. That's what you get for a billion quid. Congratulations Arteta. Their first goal should have been struck off. Ref got that wrong. He should have asked that the ball to move back 10 yards and also allowed Walker time to get back after talking to him. Ederson was possibly fouled, for their 2nd, but he needs to be stronger in those situations. Man City the better team still. We will beat them at the Emirates. Thanks Johnny Stones.

Now Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is giving his thoughts to MOTD 2.

He says it was a "miracle" his side were in the lead for so long with 10 men.

On some of the decisions by referee Michael Oliver, Arteta said "they do not deserve my comment".

Point gained under the circumstances, faced with a shite bent ref and their shithousery. But I didn't understand our tactics 2nd half, we needed a creative player centrally outside the box to try and break through their block but it was mostly Dias, Walker or Akanji there and the ball was just passed across their backline time after time.

It was bizarre. We play against packed defences every week and beat them by getting to the byeline, overlaps, running directly into the box forcing errors from defenders, moving the ball at pace, playing clever 1-2s. When did we ever beat a packed defence by lumping crosses in and shooting from 20 yards. What the fuck was that second half about? We played like morons. Doku and Savinho never took the fullbacks on in the second half. You only have to get past one player to open up the whole of a packed defence.
