You need someone who can't get bullied off the ball and makes good decisions with it. Bernardo can fill in but not a whole season.

If you rely on Stones for a whole season.. he'll break down. Same for Gundo. And Kova needs someone alongside him.

Basically we need a platoon to do a patchwork job. The only exception is Foden.. has the presence, ball control, understands the system and excels in transition.. and Pep clearly trusts him!

And basically after Newcastle we have till Nov 23 to bed a system that will work for the season.. that's when the tough games come quickly.

Good to see him play the full game but he still looks a fair way from having match fitness. Lost the ball a few times in midfield and tracking back didn’t look to be an option.

Yeah, I hope he is back to his best soon as we will def need him to start firing for us. He still looks like he hasn't shaken off the Euros performances tbh. He still looks a little lost in what he's supposed to do compared to last season where he had a clear vision of what he wants to do with the ball before he even got it. His confidence is lacking and I hope he gets back soon! Hopefully everything is well at home outside of football because that could play a part into a player's performance and confidence.

Largely anonymous tonight unfortunately but it's understandable considering how long he's been out. Hopefully the minutes have done him good and given him a boost to get up to his usual standards.

Why does he only ever seem to lay the ball of backwards these days?

He's at his best driving forward, dribbling with the ball to commit players.

There wasn't a lot of space out there, tbf. I thought he was aggressive in the second half.

I agree with others that he's not currently looking very motivated. Hopefully, he is just pacing himself for the season ahead. With the injuries we have, we desperately need him at or near his best.

He really wasn't out for long. He played 45 minutes against Chelsea on August 18 and then 45 minutes against Inter on September 18, so he missed three games for us (and actually was on the bench against Brentford). Definitely rusty but it's not like KDB coming back last year after months out injured

Doesn’t look happy at the moment. He played ok (a going through the motions sort of way. ). Obviously lacking match fitness ,but wonder if something going on off stage?

Perhaps Foden did not get enough rest after the super long season. Chelsea game was a bit rush I thought City would give him another 2-3 weeks.

Guess he isn't over the disappointment in the Euros. He'll be back to his normal self in a month or two. Needs several goals and the joy from scoring and performing well.

Did ok, nothing less, nothing more. Obviously needs more time to get into his rhythm. My only concern was he wants to play centrally and has the talent to do so but on two occasions he gave the ball away cheaply and they countered - all players can do that but both times he did he didn't even try to get back.

His game is built on movement and first touch and he'll be fine as I noticed Pep having a chat at the end of the game and I suspect it will be about those possessions.

He needs a night out with Jack & walker. Lad looks fed up. Probably screaming kids not helping as he’s so young himself

Looked rusty and lost the ball a couple of times. Probably match fitness. Don't see any reasons for conspiracy theories.

Have faith he will be back to his best soon. Him playing False 9 seems to be Pep's solution to Haaland's backup this season.
