VPN

I've subscibed with Nord last night but when i logged into my account i was asked to pick a plan. I already picked a plan 5 minutes or so before when i paid, but i couldn't get past choosing the plan bit to activate my account.

I have emailed Nord and received a reply. They sent me a link to login which I clicked on but the stored password that I created won't work. Getting cheesed off with them fast tbh, it was a bit like this when I first set up with them about 4 years ago.

Any advice?
Have a wank and a spliff

I'm with NORD but my renewal isn't far off, and, as you say, it isn't the cheapest .... did you find it easy to quit them?

Is surfshark easy to set up??
My Nord VPN was up for renewal and kept ignoring the emails telling me to renew. They sent me an offer once it expired and paid £60 for 2 years.

Might be worth the chance and if not then jumping.

I'll bear that in mind mate, cheers for the advice, that's what I'll most likely do.

Same, they were trying to get me to renew but they wanted £110 for 2 years!
I just let it expire and a few days later just signed up again for £60 for 2 years iirc.

Little explanation please from the network engineers.

I have flashed WRT successfully onto a Linksys router (primarily for ad-blocking...soz ric) and then heard about using it for VPN namely Fireguard...Now is that. Using it as a VPN client with a paid for service or is it a personal VPN using magic to obfuscate my traffic for free?

I’m using “private internet access” which is £65 for 3 years with 3 months free on top. I like it as it can be used on unlimited devices so the whole family is covered. Not sure about renewal as that was allegedly 85% off, £390 would be a piss take!

I also got a dedicated IP but had to choose a specific country to attach to so not sure I do that again (£80 for 3 years)

Some simple tests with fast.com suggested I had higher speed with it than direct on virgin media, maybe 10%

Really? That’s shit on Virgin if so, assuming that’s just for specific sites?

To route via a VPN do you change your access like you would, say, if using wifi/internet in a new location?
Can you nominate the country you want the VPN to route to? I'll be in France during world cup and wont have access to Betfair, but I can place bets from other euro locations, or UK obvs.

Depends on VPN - ie which one you use, the paid ones more likely to provide a full range of countries.
In uk I use the free version of Proton VPN - it connects via US, Netherlands and recently Norway , randomly. The paid version allows you to specify.
