Newcastle United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I think it is important to remember that if not for a blatant dive, we would have gone to St. James with Rodri, Kev, Ake, with a hobbled Haaland and not-yet fit Foden, and gotten all three points.
Newcastle also missing isak and Wilson as well as Botman. Injuries just part of the game.

What it Kyles fault that we didn't do enough to win the game.

Again it's the team that posted us points not one player

I don’t think the Gordon dive should have been given, but Walker got away with murder on the joelinton one which should easily have been given to them. He’s a liability this season and needs to get his head out of his arse.

Re. the pen. Haven't seen it , and I don't trust Bluemoon assessments of penalties against us, by and large (except my own!) — but the guy on the OS is going on and on about it, and seems genuinely outraged. According to him, VAR flagrantly did not do its job. Comments?
Sounds like we should have won, especially with chances at the end. Who needs Rodri? I'll take the point.
Yeah, there didn’t look like any contact and I don’t think there was a var review….

If we don’t win and it’s due to good play, although I don’t like it, it’s fair enough. Two Premier League games on the bounce that are tight where the officials have a hand in opposition goals is my issue. The Geordies were diving the entire game and the referee should’ve yellow carded someone long before Clare Balding dived. If there is contact, Clare is already in the air in anticipation. But I genuinely can’t see any contact. I don’t like it. I don’t like it when we do it. Love what Sterling did and achieved for us but he was a serial offender. Savinho did one in his first home game. This is what the opposition and officials are reduced to to try and stop us.

Bernado nearly won it for us at the end, only a fantastic save stopping us getting 3 points.

Difficult place to go at the best of times, Happy with a point as they will turn over teams competing with us.

In my opinion, the important thing today was not to lose. Rodri's injury has not only affected us, it has lifted the opposition and their fans, so a defeat would made things more difficult.

It’ll look like a decent point in retrospect, but I’m not sure how anyone putting out a midfield of Gundo, Kova & Rico against Joelinton, Tonali and Guimares could expect even a point.

Top of the table after 5 will quickly become Top 4 in a few hours, which, considering the last 2 games, is an indictment on the rest of the League.

Tbf, without KDB, Rodri & Foden still on the bench (a world class midfield!), we have to realize that games against the Top 6 are going to be tough.

We have an expensive, well-constructed first team squad. It’s time for it to prove its mettle.

Newsflash: We need a big strong midfielder who can go both ways, scores 5-10 goals a season, isn’t a sick note and isn’t a minutes bother…and at £100M, he’d be worth it!

There was, they mentioned it in commentary, they checked for offside and for contact, not seen it properly myself again though.

One of those where if it’s your player, it’s clever forward play. The mistake came before the penalty, never should have got to that stage.

Not really a response to my post, though, as my point was we drew away at Newcastle without the two best players in the premier league (and arguable one of the best defenders for games like these) because of a blatant dive.

Point there is never a bad result but a very poor summer is now showing us up.
Devoid of any creativity without an aging and more injury prone Kev, a complete lack of goal scorers bar Haaland since selling and not replacing Alverez.
Woeful and i am being kind there set pieces at both ends. You can play badly and win with a set piece as we see so often with Arsenal and Dippers but we seem to treat ours with disdain.
I was amazed we won the PL with our injuries and small squad last season, players now a year older ie Walker, Kev and a failure to address the well know squad issues in the summer, i feel this is one season it will bite us on the arse.

Gordon is very good at winning penalties, he does it more than anyone, it's cheating really but the refs fall for it.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in they fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. You showed ‘em, you showed ‘em all.

Especially those bar codes who had to decide to dive to get a penalty that was definitely not a penalty but if that is the only way you can do it then carry on being the silly black and white shirted fools.

Especially the know nowt so called media who at least were brave enough to admit that it shouldn’t have been a penalty. Well some of them were anyway. But the codswallop that they come out with at times is mystifying.

Especially the Specsavers needing, whistle blowing fools who allegedly know all the rules. Huh you shitake mushrooms we should have won that fair and square but oh no you throttlebottom whooperoops couldn’t allow that to happen could you. No your lord and masters the red top brigade would have your guts for garters if you did that!! When, oh when will you learn. We might get a draw but we won’t be beaten by you yellow bellies. You forget who we are. We are (ear plug time @jimharri)

MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

And for those who think that this is because Rodri wasn't able to play forget it, that is just superstition and you know I have nothing whatsoever to do with superstition. I don't do these posts because I am superstitious that things will go wrong if I didn't...... ok I do I am superstitious but that is nothing to do with Rodders ok? :-)

I shan't even mention the fact that there was another player missing today. I just can't bring myself to mention that there was another player missing today.*lol*

Not being funny but Bernie and Doku was good in our first four games. And I think we was more dangerous in that spell.

Doku bashing after a 15 minute cameo from the bench is ridiculous, it’s hard to come off the bench and be up to the tempo right away.

Bernardo he’s just not a right winger, he looked a lot better in the last ten minutes when he was central. Players will come in and out of form.
Doku needs to track back occasionally when losing the ball, even Kun did that

Pep cant just drop all the difference making players without rodri, its too fearful and we'll stop scoring. By his subs, hoping he learned the lesson

Says it all really

Wonder what opinion the fat bald cheating twat'll have on motd tonight?

Not a great performance, they really are a thuggish side, guimeres' star rather fading. The star man is Dan fucking burn, hacking ****.

Not too much invention from us, mostly through Jack n Josko, wrong starting xi? Anyway fuck off Lego head.
