The UK lead in getting vaccines was because he gazumped the EU's deal with Astra Zeneca. (I hope the Covid inquiry might look at what inducements were involved.)

Correct. Bojo got the first PR jab opportunity. That's really not what happened. Also the UK "lead" was massively overstated - we were initially ahead but ended up close to average for Western European countries as the Pfizer jab came online.

We may not be talking about the same thing. Under the EU's contract with AZ, AZ warranted that it had no obligation, contractual or otherwise, that would conflict with or impede fulfilment of the EU's contract - but it seems it did conflict with the UK's contract. That's really not what happened. Also the UK "lead" was massively overstated - we were initially ahead but ended up close to average for Western European countries as the Pfizer jab came online.

Yep, our vaccine lead was for a couple of months in spring of 2021, after the winter 2020/21 variant had died down and before Delta kicked in. By the time Delta happened we no longer had a lead and were mid table in Europe. That's really not what happened. Pfizer was available at pretty much the same time as AZ. My missus got it within a month of the first jab because she was swabbing old people in care homes at the time, quite a few of whom had the virus and died.Correct. Bojo got the first PR jab opportunity.
But the real benefit was mass deployment and we were middle of the road on that front.
Also worth noting that the first jabs in the UK were Astra Zeneca and that jab was withdrawn due to issues with clots. I had that jab for my first one and have a lump in my arm. I blame that on Boris.

Just checked and Pfizer was approved nearly a month before AZ.
Their media pals keeping the cunts relevant. Why is this waste of oxygen along with Truss still in vogue

Quite an admission. Adopting the Bloviator's negotiating stance - the political will to walk away - failed, because the EU did have the political will, and the clout to make Johnson crumble.A demonstration of how stupid he was.
The EU would have coped with a No Deal Brexit much better than us. We knew it, they knew it, we knew they knew it and they knew we knew it. If we were stupid enough to let it happen, it wouldn’t have lasted long and they knew that as well.

Tbf Brexit doesn't seem to have made that much difference either way to people's lives. The main difference seems to be that we don't have to put up with endless news items featuring farage and EU leaders.Quite an admission. Apart from the people it has made a big difference to.Tbf Brexit doesn't seem to have made that much difference either way to people's lives. The main difference seems to be that we don't have to put up with endless news items featuring farage and EU leaders.
There are very few things in life I have more contempt for than people who think they are good negotiators, when they conspicuously are not. It’s a pitiful sight, and almost exclusively marked by those the overreach, rather than those that look to be conciliatory. A no deal Brexit would have been far more harmful to us than the rest of the EU, which the latter would have known, and so its threat was entirely hollow.what an absolute **** - playing games with all our lives with all our futures

I would say the main discernible differences are getting goods in and out of the country and the enduring collapse of the pound. Along with the huge increase in numbers of migrants of colour. Plus the sad and avoidable impact on our relations with our neighbours and our standing in the world.Tbf Brexit doesn't seem to have made that much difference either way to people's lives. The main difference seems to be that we don't have to put up with endless news items featuring farage and EU leaders.
