My school just about taught English.
The teachers spent most of their time breaking fights up.

mine was like a more violent borstal but they let you home at 3pm, good thing is was near my first love Maine Road.

My degree was Latin, it was ace. If anyone’s ever wanting to read a 25 year old dissertation on Ammianus Marcellinus then copies still available…

Plus a Masters on the grammar in early Church hagiographies.

Rarely used it since to be fair, but I have the bookshelves of an intellectual still.

Tell me more about this intellectual still.Does it produce moonshine without any human help for example? I should like to purchase one.

Not sure it’s just being posh. Some of them are probably old enough to have gone to schools where they ONLY taught in Latin.

I know you post with good intentions but why post an article that is behind a paywall. Reading the criticism of the Daily Fail on here its unlikely many Bluemoon posters subscribe to that online paper.;-)

I started grammar school in 74 a year after they finished teaching Latin, happy days. I was under the impression that you needed Latin to study medicine back in the day.

I also missed Latin, finished 1 or 2 years before I started Ashton GS.

Not sure if that was good or bad as I had little interest at the time in German or French.
