Middle East Conflict

2 states is the ideal, Israel bought peace for 20 years
For millions that passed into the wrong hands, and instead of building in Gaza the most beautiful city in the Middle East, they invested
millions in terror tunnels,
Not anymore!
07/10 was
Everything is crossed, naivety is over
Who would want to live with us on the shores of which phrases like "from the river to the sea, Palestine is free" when thousands of supporters around the world join without even understanding where the river is and which sea?
So a leader and a party that has as its basis "From the river to the sea there will only be Israeli sovereignty" is one you don't support?

A as

I've seen enough videos there, friends (including City fans) have been serving there for 150 days without a day off, 07/10 changed everything, the army lost its morals, the honor of those murdered that day will never be forgotten!
Judging from a distance when every second family here paid a price for this Nazi terror and in the second hand after the Holocaust
- No more, never will happen again - whatever the cost - Israel has changed its face no longer naive and nice - the Middle East is the Middle East - one day Europe will also understand who we are dealing with here
Europe understands it very well as we've had 2 barbaric world wars. Let's face it Israel is a European country, backed by America, stuck in the middle east.

The idea that Arabs are more violent than Europeans doesn't stand up to much scrutiny.

Remember this is the man that killed his political rival within Hamas itself.

He wasn't representing/protecting Palestinians, he was only interested in his own goals. They were just pawns in his sick political desires and hatred of Jews. (Corbyn would fit right in there)
Some on here are already trying to suggest his upbringing is the cause for his brutally. I suspect some here are trying to martyre him on here. He was no "freedom fighter".

He had Palestinians and his own soldiers killed or assaulted even at the slightest suggestion they were informing to the IDF. He was feared amongst his own.
Palestinians should be glad he's gone. He was a brutal man who the world will not miss.
Fuck off with the Corbyn comment.

The fact that the Tory party, right wing media and Starmer managed to smear him was an obscenity.
You might want to ponder how the Daily Mail which were extremely antisemitic, as were the Tories, in the 1930s are now Israel's best buddies.

Why is Semitic defined as;
a group of languages — including Hebrew and Arabic — as well as the people who traditionally speak them. Semitic is rooted in the Biblical name Shem, the son of Noah, who is traditionally thought of as the direct ancestor of the Jews and Arabs.

And yet Antisemitic is defined as;
Characterized by prejudice, hostility, or discrimination towards Jewish people on religious, cultural, or ethnic grounds; anti-Jewish.

Why or when were Arabs dropped from the term?

No particular reason for wanting to know and it doesn’t change the debate here at all, as we understand what is implied by the term.

Just curious.

I am away from the thread for awhile and decide to check in to see what sort of discussion has taken place recently, despite my better judgement, and what do I find?

A Hasbara chatbot has taken over the thread.

I don't care how he died, the main thing is that this cruel killer is not here
And this is great news for the world and of course for us Israelis
- No terrorist will escape
From the long hands of our army! The whole world will understand and wake up- Hamas is nearly finished- hope for new meadleast very soon
Dream on you oddball.

New Israeli strike kills at least 33, in north Gaza’s Jabalia

Yet another horrendous Israeli massacre happening right now

The term was invented to apply only to Jews by someone who wanted to promote opposition to Jews (i.e. he thought antisemitism was a good thing). Arguing that it's imprecise, and could be used for other semitic people, is a bit pointless. It was intended to be pejorative only for Jews and while that's down to the guy who coined the term, trying to change the definition became a lost cause once Jews adopted the term with that same definition as something to be opposed (effectively anti-antisemitism). As an alternative to "Jew-hatred" it caught on - maybe you could be antisemitic without hating Jews - but also got tied up with anti-Zionism.

Cheers.
As I said, I was more curious than thinking it changed anything.

The word semitic itself is a bit suspect in terms of ethnology, based on biblical history (the sons of Noah) and invented by people who weren't "semitic". (Not the Celts!)
