Last Film You Saw

Just watched it. I couldn't stop smiling. Loved it.
Just finished it.
One of the best films I've seen in ages.
One minute I'm laughing out loud, (especially in the "attempt" scenes, as you just know it's gonna go pear shaped) the next I'm having a something in my eye moment (and there's several of them).
Hanks is brilliant in roles like this, playing a pretty ordinary fella, albeit with an interesting back story. They are often the hardest roles to convince in, but he nails this.
Quality film making, got totally immersed, the 2 hours flew by, really enjoyed it.

Add to that the leading female actress was excellent too. Love Tom Hanks.

Watched Reagan last night. Very dull (no murders, nudity or space aliens etc). Sentimental portrayal, ….too sentimental and too long. Good performance from Quaid to be fair.
5/10 at best.

2001 in 4K

It's still a magnificent film but don't know if it it suits the 4K upgrade as the special effects look dated on that format now. Still not that bad for a 56 year old flim
There are certain films that are held in extremely high regard that I have a problem with as regards liking them.
I watched this film once and I never have felt the desire to watch it again as I found it boring and without a story I can relate to, similarly I watched A Clockwork Orange once and didn't enjoy it yet somehow this makes me feel weird as I'm supposed to value it as a classic.

I have watched the occasional supposedly terrible film with low scores and enjoyed them, so it's weird... I think the film has to relate to you and if it doesn't however classic it may be you will never feel the urge to revisit it.
