Was it right to give a goal?

O Neil complaining that they had the same goal ruled out vs West Ham last season. I just watched that goal and the Wolves player was virtually as tall as the West Ham keeper and just stood right in front of him and didn't move so clearly blocked the keepers view. So clearly not the same as yesterday ONeil

A controversy stirred up by frustrated Wolves fans, bitterly frustrated gooners an other redtop teams. Of all the pundits and ex-officials commenting on the goal only Carragher thought the goal should have been ruled out - and that leads us to the unavoidable conclusion that it wasn't controversial at all. I can only assume that the assistant flagged because he saw Bernado in an offside position but from his viewpoint it wasn't clear that he wasn't affecting the play. He was never affecting the 'keeper's sight nor his ability to make the save (the ball went straight over Sa's head). Sa couldn't have come for the corner anyway because Phil had whipped the corner in instead of giving it height to the far post. So thanks, Johny Stones.

Ultimately, it was quite handy that O'Neil provided a neat example of what does constitute offside in that situation.

Showing them side by side pretty much destroys any argument that Silva is having an effect on the keeper.

I love it when we cause this much pain. It wasn't the (supposed) foul, it wasn't that it might be offside, it was because it was last minute and it was City. The mental gymnastics has been embarrassing, even from the likes of Henry (Uphisownfurcoatwearingarse) Winter

That goal must have destroyed them. Loving it!

Stop thinking about the poison guys, its their pain that is showing.

Yeah... O'Neil talking shite as usual

Everything is the refs fault and there's a big conspiracy against Wolves. He's a bellend

To summarise this goal, after everyone has had a chance to calm down and take stock of it all.

1 - Stones scores a goal which is rightly allowed to stand.
2 - Non-City fans everywhere cry conspiracy, its a disgrace, the league is fixed
3 - They confuse themselves initially whether the goal should be ruled out for offside or infringement, chopping and changing their minds over it
4 - They make an argument that "even Micah Richards said it should be ruled out"
5 - All Sky Sports pundits including Micah Richards eventually agree that the correct decision was reached, having had time to reflect on it and read the rules
6 - 606 presenters all say the correct decision was made
7 - MOTD2 pundits - 2 Liverpool men and 1 Arsenal man, all agree the correct decision was made
8 - Ref watch on Sky Sports News, 2 scousers and Dermot Gallagher all agree that the correct decision was made

In summary, fans of Arsenal and Liverpool were excitedly getting ready to celebrate us dropping 2 points, and had it snatched away from them in the dying seconds, so screamed all sorts of nonsense, falsehoods and conspiracies.

Always remember to remove the blinkers kids.

You know how bad things are when Richard’s and Sturridge. Two former city players. Are more gutted about the goal being awarded than dalgliesh’s daughter and Carragher!

As I said yesterday I'm pretty sure the producer at Sky said to Micah and Sturridge to change their opinion mid sentence.

Both initially said it the goal was fine only to both stop and then change to saying it should possibly be ruled out.

only question is who is the manager of the team with 1 point in 8 games and should he be fired asap? anything else is deflection from it.
