I don`t like us throwing cup games but understand how the injuries could hurt us if we carry on deeper into the Carabao Cup.
Yes, if we don't have any intention of taking this comp seriously then this is the round to go out in. Bit of a shame really, as I thought the trips to Wembley in late Feb we've had previously with this cup have been great.

No chance Pep will play lots of kids in this. It will be a strong side like usual in this comp, the more I think about it O'reilly is the only potential starter from the eds. I've changed my team to: Ortega, Lewis, Akanji, Stones, Ake, O'reilly, Nunes, Bernardo, Mcatee, Gundogan, Foden

Carson, Esbrand, Hamilton, Mcatee, Nunes, O Reilly, . 2-2-1 formation. 6 players should do it against Spursy's all out attack. 6 behind the ball for 85 mins, then catch them on the break 90th min . O'reilly winner . Spurs trophy less again

Normally I'd agree with you. He almost always goes stronger than we think he will. But the situation is pretty dire with regard to injuries. I think you'll see at least half youngsters and fringe players.

I can't help but agree that the team will be weaker. For last season's exit at Newcastle, we didn't exactly go weak, but we pulled a few out (plus de Bruyne was injured). First XI and subs:

XI: Ortega, Ake, Gomez, Gvardiol, Akanji, Lewis, Phillips, Kovacic, Grealish, Bobb, Alvarez
subs: Nunes, Foden, Doku, Ederson, Carson, Walker, Dias, Hamilton, Haaland

Given Pep's form for playing decent teams in Champs League dead rubbers, and the fact we are still reasonably early in the season re fitness, i can see a stronger team being fielded than some are predicting. However, our injury situation is quite bad, granted.

Ortega
Lewis, Stones, Brathwaite, Ake
O'Reilly, Kovacic, Gundogan,
McAtee Nunes
Haaland ??

really unsure about up top. Pep might revert to a striker-less system? really dont know. Also, i'm a bit doubtful Nunes will start. I really have no idea for this one.

As long as Haaland doesn’t play or even sit on the bench then it is what it is. We can afford to go out of this cup, however annoying it’d be on the night to lose to Spuds. But we cannot afford any more injuries.

We sold Hamilton to Middlesbrough unless there's another of our players called that

When has Pep ever done a Pellegrini v Chelsea?

No chance he only plays kids.

It will be more like the Community Shield: some senior players plus a couple of squad players and academy lads.
Yea it’s not going to happen. Even our ‘fringe side’, would be a first team for most clubs.

They’ll be a couple of youngsters - I don’t include Mcatee or Lewis as youngsters now and mainly first team players

Pep Guardiola: "Against Spurs maybe some players from the Manchester City Academy will play... We're going to compete, but the main target is Bournemouth, Sporting, and Brighton. If players are fine, they play against Spurs, but if they have doubts, I’m not going to take a risk.."

EDS playing the night before,

Nunes McAtee Foden Savio
Gundo O'Reilly
Ake Dias Stones Lewis
Ortega

at a guess.

Im not that convinced that our fringe side would make it many top half clubs really - some will - but our squad is not as deep as the meeja make out

mcatee was on the bench 10 times for sheff united last season for example. Kalvin Phillips another example hasnt done anything since leaving city.
