Ten Hag sacked! (P 416)

If you've got a rusty, old, beaten-up banger of a car outside, one with no MOT and no chance of getting one: bald tyres, no brakes and the windscreen has been replaced with polythene, putting a different driver behind the wheel isn't going to change anything.
Horseface is going to inherit exactly the same players as Ten-Bob, but he's not going to be given time to instill a different ethos into the changing room. So essentially it's the same manager but with a different name.

We all know they need a complete overhaul. Stripped to the bone and then start again. But that won't happen because they'll need money - and lots of it. This is the financial status they cultivated themselves. Money talks and all that.
The Glazers and 25%Jim want success NOW, immediately, not in 2030 or whatever.

The despot's 'special relationship' with the refereeing officials has long gone and the club now find themselves on a level playing field with the rest of us - something they have not experienced for several decades. Under the old regime they only had to turn up to get the three points: courtesy of Riley and his corrupt cronies they were, to all intents and purposes, guaranteed a win.
But the winds of change can blow bitterly cold, and extremely fierce when your foundations are not as solid as they should be. Because once that nasty, malignant demon has been exorcised from the swamp investigations will reveal what really took place under his governance, and if the rumours that have circulated for so many years about him turn out to be true the consequences for the club will be far reaching.
DONNGGGGG!!!

If you want to learn a little more about the Dutch and their Xmas-time relationship and attitudes to blackface and have a good laugh too, David Sedaris lays it all out nicely

Bloody hell! I never would have expected to see a reference to David Sedaris on BM, let alone a thread like this. Fair play to you.

A coach or manager on his own cannot fix United. If the top is rotten you’ll struggle. Pep would struggle there. You can’t believe the procession of managers we had under Swales were all useless. Clearly many were but I reckon a few decent ones saw what they were up against and walked. It’s still Scruffy Jim blundering about whilst the Glazers cream off the Asian shirt sales.

When you say decent coach, Mourinio, Van Gaal, Rangick, Moyes, Ten Hag are hardly still cutting their managerial teeth.

The fact that some pretty decent coaches can't get a tune out of some pretty highly regarded players points to it being deeper than the coaching.
And between them they averaged more trophies per season at the swamp than the rags averaged before the GPC.
The fuckwits, and their equally fuckwitted cheerleaders in the media, seem to believe the GPC's level of success was normal for the club, but it was nothing like they'd experienced in the past. We're seeing something similar with Pep, the Tarquins saw it with Wenger, but we've the sense to expect a slight drop-off in trophies when he leaves.
