This article features some incredible stats from last season revealing Rodri as being on a completely different level. The reason why he is a bit underappreciated in England is that he is so good that he makes difficult things look easy.

Still, some of the most impressive facts about Rodri in the last 2 seasons are overlooked. Like winning 8 trophies, losing only 4 games with both City and Spain, and being recognized as the best player in all non-domestic (!) competitions in the last 2 seasons but the WC (where he played as a CB: a big mistake): CL, Nations League, the Euros.

It's a collective failure of English media that they couldn't (bring themselves to) recognize the best player in the world.

A bit unrelated but did anyone hear Henry Winter on Talksport earlier this morning? He was full of praise for Rodri, no problem.
But re United - reckoned that Uniteds appointment of Amorim was a masterstroke and that it proved Ineos were major players, world class board room infrastructure, champions of fine margins etc. Extraordinary smoke blowing and obviously convinced Amorim was all done and dusted. As a later caller said, it was like he was Ratcliffe's PR man. Henry must be struggling with his gas bill and be on the payroll at OT.

The cynic in me wonders about the timing of Ten Bob's sacking.
It seems well documented that the Rodri result was leaked a day or two before, so then the rags sack the manager on the day of the result thus receiving all the limelight in the media.

2 years ago, with an empty bottle of scotch at his feet, his heart was broken as City did the treble.
Last year, as a care assistant mopped up the piss from the carpet, the gpc saw us do 4 in a row.
Last night, after the rags sacked their latest greatest manager, Rodri lifted the Ballon D'or. I reckon that was the one that broke the bullies heart.
May the gpc last forever and be of sound mind to drink it all in

Thank god foreign journalists voted for Rodri as you know none of the UK ones would have. BBC have a unhealthy fixation on Madrid, note the only story they did not open comments on are the cry babies boycotting the awards.
Madrid should not have even got team and coach of the year in my opinion, it should have been Alonso and his team
